"BLAH BLAH BAH" - Obama

Blah-blah-bah

Obama rejected Friday the latest proposal from Republicans in Congress on a payroll tax cut, saying its costs needed to be offset in a balanced away and not with budget cuts exempting the rich.[AHEM]

We are open to looking at other ways to pay for this, but they have to be economically responsible and fair. [News Max]

"President Obama will begin a three-state
bus tour. I believe the three states are
confusion, delusion, and desperation. "
 —Jay Leno

The Republican plan paid for it with an extension of a pay freeze for federal workers, changes to civilian federal retiree benefits and other reforms, including gradual increases in Medicare health premiums for the elderly and a clampdown on assistance to illegal immigrants

'S funny how they keep railing against "Teh Rich" while setting up rule after rule which enabling the actual Rich to shovel cash into their own pockets. [See Pelosi Wealth Increases 62% Last Year]

I wonder if They're playing the ol' Divert The Attention game?

....

I also wonder what it does to the psyche of one publicly railing - every day - against what he, himself does every day.

They keep using the term "payroll tax", when they mean Socialist Security tax, or FICA. Got a question ... OK, so we have another "tax holiday" for Socialist Security tax. That tax is the only source of funds for Socialist Security recipients, a fund which is already in trouble.

Topping that, isn't it true that a recipient gets Socialist Security checks based on the amount contributed? So if there is a year, two years, or three years of payroll tax holiday, doesn't that mean recipients will be getting LESS each month from Socialist Security?

So, when they buy your vote, they are buying it with your own money, now and down the road.

Good point, Skoonj, and I'm not sure I've seen anyone address that.

Another part of this bill worth noting is that they want the WH to fasttrack Keystone XL, which is the oil pipeline from Canada. Lower taxes, cheaper energy, and paid for by freezing gummint wages. What's not to like?
