Today's Harshed Mello

For all the sound and fury of the class of GOP freshmen that succeeded in pushing Speaker John Boehner to cut extra funds from the continuing resolution spending bill, a Friday vote to cut $22 billion more actually split the class, only garnering the support of about 65 percent of them.

Both South Carolina Rep. Tim Scott and South Dakota Rep. Kristi Noem – the two new members elected to represent their class in leadership meetings – voted against the additional cuts, as did most of the Republican leadership.

Wisconsin Democrats in for big FAIL?

Wisconsin Democrats In 4 Big FAIL?

In late June 1950,  the Soviet boycott of the UN  (over allowing Red China entrance)  backfired when the Security Council voted to invoke military action in Korea.
The Soviets could have blocked the action, but no
Russian delegate was present. In just a short time, a multinational U.N. force arrived in South Korea and the grueling three-year Korean War was underway. [Soviets boycott United Nations Security Council]

Guess what?  It appears commie braniacs have done it again in Wicsonsin.
The Wisconsin Republicans have come up with an angle to put pressure on the Democrats. In the State constitution, a quorum is only needed for budget issues. If no budget is involved, no quorum is needed.

So the senate is going to meet tomorrow, and start passing non budget bills and making office appointments quickly, with just their simple majority.

The end result is that they can do the vast majority of legislative business for the year in just a few days, and the Democrats will have no say in it.

They can also change the civil and criminal law, which could be a humdinger. [Anymoose. The O Club]

Real Navy Aviators Stand Up

Ex-pilots shoot down timeline of Navy
Slant seen on blacks, women

Navy's first paraplegic African-American lesbian twister champ
Norfolk- The Navy kicked off it's celebration of 100 years of Naval Aviation aboard the carrier USS George Washington yesterday.  Above, LT. Renetta Muhammad, the first paraplegic African-American lesbian fighter pilot,  is honored for winning the ship's Twister contest.
A foundation set up to celebrate Navy aviation’s 100th birthday has disavowed an official history on its website, after former combat pilots complained of inaccuracies and political correctness.

As the first celebration commenced last month at a naval air base in California, a number of enraged former pilots began bombarding the 100th Anniversary of Naval Aviation Foundation with complaints. The Navy views the commemoration with high regard, with celebrations planned at Navy and Marine Corps air stations from California to Florida.

The foundation‘s official history slide show featured four “firsts” for women, such as the first female operations officer in 1992. It also accentuated humanitarian missions. But it devoted only two slides to World War II and barely mentioned Vietnam, during which the Navy orchestrated a decade of multiple aircraft carrier operations.

“There is ‘history’ and then there is ‘revisionist history’ written to support a political agenda,” said Roy Stafford, a former Marine attack aircraft pilot.
