Time to re-evaluate AGW?
New global warming data raises eyebrows

The  Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consultant at Bergen, Norway.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard of temperatures in the Arctic zone.Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.  Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm.  Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north are being encountered in the old sea fishing grounds.

Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.
Time to stop joking about AGW?
Celebrating AGW

Whoa!  Sounds legit.  Wait.  On, I'm sorry.  The AP article was printed in the WaPost in November.

November 2, 1922.

Never mind.  Carry on.

Muslim Extremists attempting
‘Day of Rage’ in U.S. on March 3

Whether or not Muslim extremists Anjem Choudary, Abu Izzadeen and Sayful Islam will actually be able to pull it off or not remains to be seen.  However, the trio are planning to stand on American soil in front of the White House on March 3 and proclaim a “call to arms” in which they will , “call for Sharia law to be established across the U.S.,” according to the Daily Mail on Sunday.

Anjem Choudary is the same extremist who has insisted that the Islamic flag will one day fly over the White House.  He also said that he anticipates that thousands will turnout.  Whether that is a bunch of psychological warfare or there has truly been some focused organizing going on behind the scenes will eventually become evident.

Baltimore's Little Italy (Balamur's Lil-itly) comes to mind here (obviously).  As related by a resident, during the free-for-all rioting that followed MLK's assassination in 1968; when downtown business's in cities across America were being burned, residents of Baltimore's Little Italy section did something that's stayed with me.

The residents, as if acting with a single mind, showed up on the streets bordering their enclave, armed to the teeth with assorted instruments.  If that was not message enough, Black gangs approaching were told in no uncertain terms that to cross the street would end with them being kilt dead.  While the nearby Jewish section known as Corned Beef Row, on Lombard Street west of Central Avenue, was ravaged, and never recovered, no Italian restaurant was burned, and nobody had been hurt.  Interestingly,  Nancy D'Alessandro's family would almost certainly have participated.  It's what came to mind. Made me proud.

Two to go: Public unions and EOs

TWO TO GO
Government workers were making good salaries in 1962 when President Kennedy lifted, by executive order (so much for democracy), the federal ban on government unions. Civil service regulations and similar laws had guaranteed good working conditions for generations.

The argument for public unionization wasn't moral, economic or intellectual. It was rankly political.
Jonah Goldberg: Public unions must go

And not just public unions must go.

THE SEPARATION OF POWERS

"There can be no liberty where the legislative and executive powers are united in the same person."
--Charles-Louis de Secondat, Baron de Montesquieu1

"The accumulation of all power, legislative, executive, and judiciary in the same hands...may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny."
--James Madison, Federalist 46

"All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives."
--U.S. Constitution, Art. I, § 1

"The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America."
--U.S. Constitution, Art. II, § 1, cl. 1

Executive Orders should be used only to facilitate quick action during a national crisis, and then only as one time directives.  In any event, all EO's should expire after 90 days. What were we thinking to allow this?

Hillary Clinton, Unindicted Felon

Lest it slip through the crack ...
One of Hillary Clinton's top fundraisers for her presidential campaign and another man were indicted for improperly reimbursing $186,600 to donors.

The indictment, which covers Clinton's 2006 Senate and 2008 presidential runs, charges William Danielczyk Jr., chairman of McLean, Va.-based Galen Capital Group, and Eugene Biagi, Galen's secretary and treasurer, with reimbursing donors -- sometimes with corporate funds -- who gave to Clinton's campaigns. They were charged with conspiracy, illegally reimbursing contributions and obstructing justice.

EFF-YOU Hillary
Add Danielczyk to the long list of Hillary Clinton fund-raisers who are indicted, in prison, or were imprisoned, to include Norman Hsu, Robert Feldman, Mauricio Celis,  Kase Lawal, Hassan Nemazee, Johnny Chung, Peter Franklin Paul - and that's off  the top of my head.  Her Filthiness  is the country's all-time leading unindicted felon, and no, she would not be a better president than Obama.  Both of them deserve to be __________ and __________!

Magical Dem Budget Cuts

Democrats counter with cuts of their own
Answer GOP spending trims, holding to 2010 levels

This here guy's comment will do.
While you stand in line ...
I must have been educated in the public school system because the math doesn't add up. The Republicans cut $61 billion, the Dems don't cut anything and it is a $41billion cut? A freeze in spending is not a cut it is just not an increase. Voodoo math isn't going to solve any problems but cover the butts of the double talkers in DC. So now they will "negotiate and end up with a voodoo compromise of $51 billion in "cuts" that will only cut last year's budget by $10 billion. AND REMEMBER, last year's budget was a 50% increase in spending. Someone get me a pitchfork [comment]

Among Republican cuts, nearly 300 billion short of what's acceptable, ahem, is "nearly $5 billion for the Education Department."  In 2009 the federal gummint's budget was  137.6  billion. The last figures I saw showed that only $16 of every $100 taken are returned to the states  How many schools do the feds operate?  Answer: 0.  How many classroom teachers do the feds pay?  Answer: 0.   My looking-ahead calculator tells me this post will  run 62,000 words+, were I to indulge myself.  So I won't.

To sum up then.  We don't need the department of education. It's only purpose is to provide a slush fund used for DNC ward healing heeling, and Liberal patronage.  . Stop.
