Scumbag Throttled

REMEMBER HIM?

Steve Gibson

What's lower than an ambulance chaser?
Answer.  This guy has to look up at them

Gibson [
Righthaven LLC], in case you don't know, is the lawyer who's been buying up copyrights; searching the web for bloggers who've used any of the material, and suing them for big bucks.  As an aside, Michele Obama's first post law school job was as an associate at the Chicago office of the law firm Sidley Austin.  Gibson was an associate at Sidley Austin.  Guess what they did at Sidley Ausin?  INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW [source]  Ahem.
[Curmudgeonly & Skeptical Presents Boned Jello Sept 6, 2010]

Today:
Marshals ordered to seize Righthaven assets
Las Vegas copyright infringement lawsuit filer Righthaven LLC’s financial problems grew Tuesday when the federal court in Las Vegas commanded the U.S. Marshals Service to seize more than $63,000 in Righthaven assets to satisfy a creditor [Wayne Hoehn's] judgment and costs. [...]

Hoehn, a Kentucky message board poster, had posted a Review-Journal column on a sports betting website.
[...]

Righthaven has refused to pay and has said it faces bankruptcy if a creditor like Hoehn tries to seize its assets. The company has said it’s low on cash because the problems with its litigation campaign have reduced lawsuit settlement revenue. But even as the company has refused to pay Hoehn, it has continued paying attorneys to litigate other cases in Nevada, Colorado and South Carolina .

[Gibson's]  appealing to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals both the dismissal of its suit against Hoehn as well as the award for his attorney’s fees — one of several attorney’s fee awards Righthaven has been hit with or is likely to be hit with. [Full]

Of course nobody knows what that band of clowns from the 9th U.S.  Circus will do, but as it stands this a just great— on several levels.
  1. Blogger Clayton Cramer independently developed  an ap to auto-blacklist  Gibson's clients
  2. Victims like  Wayne Hoehn fought back and took the attack to him
  3. Nary a politician got involved legislatively
  4. The little creep is getting pounded in state courts.
  5. It's Why We Win!

Profiling Fleas ...

Profiling the Fleas

Jack of FablesFor each of the 984 Occupy Wall Street protesters arrested in New York City between September 18 and October 15, police collected and filed an information sheet recording the arrestee’s name, age, sex, criminal charge, home address and — in most cases — race. The Daily Caller has obtained all of this information from a source in the New York City government.

  • Homes listed on those police intake forms have a median value of $305,000 — a far higher number than the $185,400 median value of owner-occupied housing units in the United States
  • .At least 95 of the protesters’ residences are worth approximately $500,000 or more
  • The median monthly rent for those living in apartments whose information is readily available is $1,850
  • .Of the 984 protesters arrested, at least 797 are white.
  • The median age of “Occupy” protesters taken into custody is 27 years.
London’s Daily Mail newspaper, for example, recently highlighted signs of wealth among the throngs in Zuccotti Park.

“Sleeping beside the hardcore activists are increasing numbers of wealthy students turning up to make the most of the party atmosphere, drugs and free food,” reporters Paul Bentley and Micela McLucas wrote in October. “While they dress down to blend in ... [Cont]

ZOMBAMA ...

More Theater of the Absurd
the Zombie meme

This is the dramatic moment when President George Bush is gunned down by a sniper after a public address at a hotel, in a gripping new docudrama soon to be aired on TV.

Set around October 2007, President Bush is assassinated as he leaves the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago.

Death of a President, shot in the style of a retrospective documentary, looks at the effect the assassination of Bush has on America in light of its ‘War on Terror’.

The 90 minutes feature explores who could have planned the murder, with a Syrian-born man wrongly put in the frame.

A Halloween-themed graphic featuring a zombie President Barack Obama with a bullet hole in his forehead provoked widespread outrage and the attention of the Secret Service Monday after a local Republican committee in Virginia used it to scare up interest in Halloween parade political activities.
[NBC News Yesterday]

The ZOMBIE meme
“This is a disgusting and violent portrayal of the president of the United States,” said Democratic Party of Virginia spokesman Brian Coy.

My biggest disappointment came when —
Gov. Bob McDonnell, through spokesman J. Tucker Martin, called on the Loudoun GOP to “apologize for their actions, and to immediately ensure that such imagery is never used again.”

and

Virginia GOP Chairman Pat Mullins said such an image “has no place in our politics. Ever.”
Oh stop it.
Both McDonnell, whom I deeply admire, and Mullins are playing to the media here.  What both should have said was nothing. Or, at most,  "Oh stop this nonsense.  It was a pop culture reference and nothing more.  Sheesh. Lets talk about Gun running."

The UN- A Way Out!

NUKE THE UN
A light in the tunnel

UN funding from USA

Because of laws passed in the early 1990s that bar American funding for any U.N. agency that grants membership to Palestinians, Washington must now withhold $80 million from UNESCO, about 22% of its budget.

That excerpt from today's LA Times editorial Using the United Nations
"The lopsided vote for Palestine's entry into UNESCO shows how isolated the U.S. and Israel are."

The U.S. was on the losing side of a 107-14 vote in favor of membership, with 52 countries abstaining, including staunch U.S. ally Britain; another close European ally, France, voted in favor of the Palestinians. That result came in spite of a fevered campaign by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to shore up support in foreign capitals for the U.S. position (rather absurd theater given the Obamunist record)..

I'm always annoyed by our membership in the UN, and lately (since 9-11-2001) even more. Here are the actual voting records of various Arabic/Islamic States which are recorded in both the US State Department and United Nations records:

UN funding from USA
Kuwait votes against the United States 67% of the time Qatar votes against the United States 67% of the time→ Morocco votes against the United States 70% of the time→  United Arab Emirates votes against the United States 70% of the time→ . Jordan votes against the United States 71% of the time→ . Tunisia votes against the United States 71% of the time→ . Saudi Arabia votes against the United States 73% of the time→ . Yemen votes against the United States 74% of the time→ . Algeria votes against the United States 74% of the time→ . Oman votes against the United States 74% of the time→ . Sudan votes against the United States 75% of the time→ . Pakistan votes against the United States 75% of the time→ . Libya votes against the United States 76% of the time→ . Egypt votes against the United States 79% of the time→ . Lebanon votes against the United States 80% of the time→ . India votes against the United States 81% of the time→ . Syria votes against the United States 84% of the time→ . Mauritania votes against the United States 87% of the time . [Full]

BUT WAIT!  Did you catch that opening excerpt?  The one about "... laws passed in the early 1990s that bar American funding for any U.N. agency that grants membership to Palestinians ...?"  That means if the UN grant Palestine full UN membership, which appears more and more likely, it will be illegal for us to give them so much as a farthing!  I think the LA Times caught the significance of the law, because in true Liberal "blame the US" fashion, the editorial ends—

The anti-Palestine laws should be repealed.
