Aiding the Enemy

Doom and Gloomers

WYSIWYG

Well there's  a Pogo moment. I can't see where Newt is any worse than them what's left (I wouldn't trade a bucket of spit for the lot).  He is however absolutely better than the alternative.  Much as I like these three [blabbermouths], there will be a general election in 10 months.

Christy kept hammering on the ethics committee fining Gingrich $300,000. It didn't happen. The charges were simply Sen. Bonior, a low piece of work, leveling worthless charge after worthless charge, none of which had merit. Gingrich was not found guilty of anything, but offered to pay half the investigative cost, $300,000. The IRS said he did nothing wrong.

This is much like what Gov. Palin went through. Worthless charges after worthless charges. Finally, she, and he, decided it was too costly and left. So now Christy and Romney Grits think they are heros for attacking Gingrich with Bonior's nonsensical charges.

Much as I hate it, I've gotten to where I am evaluating the candidates by which one the press and the political establishment (both labels) vilify the most. If Newt is getting this much flak, he must be pretty close to the target.

Make that Representative David Bonior, not Senator. He filed 75 ethics complaints against Gingrich, all based on the fact that the Republicans had taken control of the House, and Gingrich was speaker.

In 2002, Bonior make a trip to Iraq with two other congressmen. While there, they denounced US war plans. The trip was arranged by an agent of Saddam Hussein and paid for by Iraqi intelligence.

All of the media, and pundits, are so smug in their opinions, they don't realize the majority of U.S. taxpayers don't give a rat's ass what they think.

Personally, I wish they'd spend a few minutes of their precious time focusing on the terrible mess they've been part of creating. I know they won't. They have books to sell and opinions to peddle.

You made mention of a "Pogo moment."
I assume you are referring to where Pogo said, "We have met the enemy and he is us."

That is esactly what is happening in the Republican Party today. We are our own worst enemy. If this fiasco does not change, and in a goddamn hurry, the The Komrade Prezzident REMF will be reelected next November. And we absolutely cannot have that.

Back to Pogo: Where the hell is Walt Kelly when we desperately need him?

One more thing: Walt Kelly, back in the 50s during the McCarty era when he was seeing communists under every rock and bush, was that period's Thomas Nast. Remember that Nast was the news cartoonist that gave us the Democrat donkey (read jackass) and the Republican elephant.

If Newt is nominated it will be a drubbing never before seen.

Democrats will take back the House.

The silver lining is that maybe Rush and his ilk will disappear.

I was disappointed in Hume peddling the standard "he can't be elected" drivel. Made my opinion of his sagacity drop a few points.
That said, I have the feeling there is a pent-up demand for someone who will just say No!
- no more go along to get along incremental creep
- no more automatic budget increases year over year
- no more earmarks
- no more being 'nice' and ignoring attacks by the press & opposition
- no more 'spread the wealth' to those that WON'T work
- no more "Solyndra" type bribes and kickback
- no more printing fiat money to buy Treasuries
- no more raiding the SocSec "trust fund" to pay for pet projects
- no more crony capitalism bribes to TBTF banks and investment houses
I could go on for a long time, but really think people have had enough. We entrusted our government to the R and D parties, and they betrayed us to line their own pockets, and those of their fellow 'party members', at our expense. Bribe us with our own money, and take a 'taste' as it passes through their hands.
They do not have our trust any more. They will get another dose of Tea Party rebellion next November{I hope}, and after 1/22/13 should realize things are not going back to 'the way they were..' when they did as they pleased.

I followed a link from C&S the other day (can't remember which one, though) and found this:

"Revolutions begin with an open contempt for and anger at the existing order. The left knows that.

It is why the left fears talk radio and populism more than it fears the latest set of dapper gatekeepers we send to the Senate. The contempt and anger are here, the more they go public, the more the power of the left is shaken. And the next step is to expand the cultural war to a specific disrespect and hostility for the values and sacred cows of the left. Then to challenge their institutions and regulations. And then real political change can begin with candidates who are revolutionaries because they believe it, or because they are operating under a new paradigm that is outside the left's manufactured consensus. Most of the elements are already in place." --Daniel Greenfield

I find myself too much in agreement with that statement to want to pick nits. Now I ask you, which of the last four standing appears most to be "operating under a new paradigm that is outside the left's manufactured consensus."

So, are we going to continue doing the work of the leftists by deriding and debasing our own candidates, every one of which is vastly preferable to to the current #OWH, or are we going to continue these behaviors demonstrating that we don't want to row in syncronization so that our boat goes nowhere?

Right now, because of this endless petty bickering, we - the Conservatives - make the democrats look like the adults in the room and that's just goddamned pathetic. -- Skyhawker, Doug

wv: "costs" - Are you prepared to pay them?

Speaking of "the enemy is us", some guy with a girls name used to write a lot about the "stupid party"... I think it's getting stupider and stupider.
Kim you still out there?
