Ginsburg shows her ass

            —    you berk.  you filthy f'n berk

A filthy f'n berk

In a move that should come as a surprise to nobody, a Democrat appointee to the Supreme Court has dissed the United States Constitution,  Overseas  To the Obama installed Muslim Brotherhood government of Egypt. Here, from SLATE

Ruth Bader Ginsburg has disturbed the balance of the universe by giving an interview to Egyptian television in which she does not recommend using the U.S. Constitution as a model for post-Mubarak happiness. The whole video is here, and some transcripts are at the link, but this part is the hackle-raiser.

Q: Would your honor's advice be to get a part or other countries' constitutions as a model, or should we develop our own draft?

A: You should certainly be aided by all the constitution-writing that has gone one since the end of World War II. I would not look to the US constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012. I might look at the constitution of South Africa. That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, had an independent judiciary. It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done. Much more recent than the U.S. Constitution: Canada has a Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It dates from 1982. You would almost certainly look at the European Convention on Human Rights. Yes, why not take advantage of what there is elsewhere in the world? I'm a very strong believer in listening and learning from others.

This statist jackass has betrayed her oath of office and subverted the US Constitution from the very beginning.
Of course, that's why she was put there.

Leave the poor old woman alone please. I know she's 80 (or so) but I like her right where she is @ least until this time NEXT YEAR. If she should retire guess who gets to stick her replacement on the court for the next half century.

Anon (3),
The US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence comprise a fundamental rejection of foreign law. That's the whole friggin' point of America post-1776.
The US Constitution specifically states that the Constitution, Treaties, and laws enacted per the Constitution are the supreme law of the land.
Clearly, foreign law, Sharia, Napoleonic Code, Code of Hammurabi, etc. are ex-clu-ded.
The authority of US law comes from the consent of the American people, not from God or some state of nature or international permission. The US gov't is an artificial institution created at the stroke of a pen by the American people and may be replaced by the people.
Foreign law is almost exclusively statist rather than republican. Foreign laws support the basic authority of the state. The American people cede limited sovereignty to the gov't in order to protect their lives, liberty, property, and rights.
Foreign "righs" actually impose obligations on the people to provide services to others (via taxation and laws administered by the state). They put the individual at the service of the state (e.g. for the greater good). We call those services entitlements, not rights.
A "right" is something you have that you do not have to give away without your permission. An individual's right does not impose an obligation on another, and it does not limit another individual's rights.
America's real rights do, however, impose limitations on the scope, authority, and power of the state in order to protect the individual from abuse by the state (e.g. greed, foolishness, utopian fantasies, etc. of the majority).

Natural Law anyone?

With some luck for us, that bitch will retire or die Jan 22, 2013. She deserves impeachment, but we sure as hell don't want to give Captain Bullshit, Lord Smug, an opportunity to stick us with another Kagan for thirty five years. Meanwhile pray for Justices Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, Alito and Kennedy to stay on SCOTUS in good health.

What DougM and LtCG Dick said. The appointments are for life, or until voluntary retirement. I believe this bitch should leave the court. Either way would be fine, but better death for treason.

How in God's name she got on the SC without a firestorm of protest is beyond me. The left went apeshit over Bork and Thomas, both just right of center, and only 3 nay votes for this effing commie??? Jessie, where are you? Why can't our side go to the mat when these commie pukes get nominated? I am past sick to death of this go along garbage.

Her, Kagan and Sotomayor, what an ungodly axis of evil. How can they raise their hands and swear to defend the Constitution knowing they will subvert it every chance they get?

I can't believe I'm going to be looking at a mall cop SCJ until the day I die.
