The water's just right in North Carolina

The Water's Just Right

Since North Carolina isn't California, I sort of thought her citizens were not okay with school lunch police . I was wrong.   They've been permitted to strike again.

Another School Lunch Replaced for Not Being Healthy Enough

The lunch Zambrano packed for her daughter? A cheese and salami sandwich on a wheat bun with apple juice. The lunch she got in the cafeteria? Chicken nuggets, a sweet potato, bread and milk.

It is entirely fair to say that  North Carolinians forget that state government work for them.  Else boots would have hit the ground after the first instance was reported.  To put it in perspective, how would any of them respond after finding that rats had nested in their home?

North Carolina is the California of the South. And, like California, it should be avoided.

Appears so. The poison spread from "The Triangle. I doubt any state could overcome the toxic conditions caused by so many universities packed so closely together. NC was once our first choice for a retirement home. Nags Head or Elizabeth City still work for me, but they don't meet MoSup's "20 minutes-from-the-kids" rule.

Don't forget, the guy who shot his daughter's laptop is from here.
Yes, the poison has spread from the triangle, but there are still bastions of hope around the state.

WTH is their fixation on pre-digested, formed fried "chicken" nuggets?

My first thought reading the original story was "Someone in the union has family ties to the food service supplying the school lunch program."

C'mon. Any state that can spawn Wake Forest, Jesse Helms and vinegar-based barbeque can't be all bad.

California gave us Sanford, Ronald Reagan, and some great Cal-Mex cooking.

It's still a basket case that needs to be re-conquered and have a latter-day Patton appointed as Prefect to sort their shit out.

You're right, Rodger. Everyone seems to be missing the point on this one. I don't care if they gave their kids a five pound bag of granulated sugar for lunch, the government has no right to mess with it.

^ Anon, above, is right. Removing her is necessary but not sufficient.
Anon (1) is wrong. NC's Portlandias are pockets, as Rodge says.
After all, America is the ultimate petri dish.
I'll bet that every other school principal in the State has been taken aside by their school board and every citizen they've met and told, "Do. not. do. that." Some may have added, "...or else."
