Hey, I said skeptical curmudgeon

yay

Yeah, I'll vote for Mitt.  I am disappointed though.  When was the last time we voted for a Republican for the promise of his ideas, and not the fear of  his opponent?  For me, 1980.  I feel like I'm being whipsawed; manipulated. *spit*  Okay, I'll say it.  I voted for Ron Paul last Tuesday.  Because he was the only man with a plan. I don't think he ever rode the AGW bandwagon either, which makes him smartest.

Another dump election is right. Seriously considered not voting this one. It was difficult enough to cast a vote where Palin was second on the ticket to chipmunk man. So, managed to convince myself it will be a vote *against* Omymammy, again. Guess it's time for voter registration in our new home state. BTW, Ronald Reagan was the only president I voted FOR.
Ching-ching to Conservatism. Lord knows it's not in the Republican house of fame.

Chill dudes. Mitt did better then Reagan on harder soil. Reagan raised taxes in California a lot, remember? And was more then happy to pass No-fault Divorce. Mitt, on the other hand, saved Taxachusetts from going down in flames despite how Corrupt and Democrat (But I repeat myself) the State is. Reagan ended the Cold War. So the Soviet Union is not a threat now. What is? Going down in Flames, like California and Detroit are now. Mitt's got proven skills. "Cometh the Hour, Cometh the Man", Baby.

Sigh, the line that illustrates how I feel about the Republican candidates was, "I have no use for one and I can't stand the other." I'm going to support flipper though, because while I don't like him, Bambi and his pack of crap weasels scare the hell out of me. I tell myself that by supporting the North East Yankee we can get more conservatives into Congress with his coat tails....of course I feel like I've just been issued, knee pads, mouth wash, and a practice butt plug M-1.

Romney looks like he will be GW Bush, without the smirk. It was Bush, along with Rove, who were the architects of the Obama administration. I hope I'm wrong about what Romney will be like in office, but if he's like Bush he will be the last Republican president for 50 years. Maybe more, since Tea Party people will almost surely start another political party. That is something I can get behind, and leave the RINOs in the dust.

So yes, I will vote for Romney, and I believe he will win. But I will be watching closely.

Whether you vote for a half black socialist or a white socialist makes no difference to me...Im sitting this one out....niether one is worth the gas to drive to the f-ing polls to vote.

Robert Mitchell Jr. said...

Really Anonymous? Really? You really think Mitt will keep E. Holder on, to keep running guns and getting thousands murdered? You've seen something like "Fast And Furious" on the Republican side? Something like Waco? Maybe the Ethnic Cleansing of California during WWII? Perhaps you like the "Wise Latino Woman" who is too proud to recuse herself from the "Health Care" law she helped write? Pathetic. You too, Skoonj. Get a grip. No magic bullet, Third parties always lose, and a Tea Party party would just throw elections to the Democrats, like the Libertarians do.

Robert, the Republicans were once a third party.

Robert Mitchell Jr. said...

Yes, clue. It took a Huge issue that neither party was dealing with (Slavery). The big issue of this age is Abortion, and the Republicans are on the right side, and the Democrats are once again on the wrong side. No room for a third party to germinate and grow....

I can think of plenty of huge issues neither party will deal with. How about deficit spending? Even Ryan's plan doesn't come close to what is needed and hasn't a ghost of a chance of passing. How about illegal immigration? Neither party seems much concerned with that.

That's just two issues the American people have clearly indicated they want fixed and the Washington Bozos won't even look. We only have two choices I can see. It's either start a third party based on the will of the people and the Constitution or just sit back and enjoy this ride in the hand basket.

Nope. Deficit spending is just money. A third party needs a moral component, and money isn't it. As to illegal immigration, the Republicans are on the right side of the issue (Amnesty, just like Reagan did) and the Democrats are on the wrong side of the issue (Racist quotas, just like Teddy K wanted, and more power to the corrupt and incompetent INS/ICE/Whatever). For all the frothing, no Conservative cheered to see Elian sent back to the Communist Hellhole of Cuba.

Sure, demanding a fix is easy. But the American people have not shown any agreement on what the solutions are, have they? Heck, half the people in the "Tea Party" are in it because they got worried that the Democrats frenzied spending was going to screw with their S.S.. No, the only issue close to "The Will of the People" is Abortion, and the Republicans are fighting that good fight.

"Okay, I'll say it. I voted for Ron Paul last Tuesday."

...IF we ALL do that again, just think.

Oh, but it could never work: the MSM told me so.

Disagreement, here, Boss. The big issue of this age is not Abortion. It is the dismantling of a Free Nation through the Regulatory Agencies [EPA, HHS, Homeland 'Security', UN etc.] who make "regulations" which have the Force of Law.

There is no [formal] party out there dealing with that issue at all. The TEAparty addresses it only a bit -- no where clearly enough.

On the other side of the battle space we have the 'Tear It All Down And Burn The Pieces' of the #Occupyers and The Anarchists Looking For A Handout.

How about a Free The People party that rejects the Regulatory Agencies, the reach of gov't into every private area of an Individual's Life, the "civil right' to burn down some one else's property, the destruction of Technologically-based Civilization in the name of Junk 'Science', and the like?

Might there be room for that?

Robert Mitchell Jr. said...

Anonymous, the MSM doesn't have the Vote, we do, and we didn't vote for Ron Paul. We did vote for Reagan, despite the MWM. Stop blaming them for your failings. If you can't get past their lies to get elected, you sure as heck aren't going to get anything done if you "magically" get into office....

Anonymous, there is no room for that, sorry. The Republicans are dealing with the issue, and have in the past. Remember "Government Shutdown"? It's happened under Carter and Clinton, and the Voters have made it clear they like the amount of Government they have, they just don't like paying for it. It's why the "Tea party" is not doing enough for your tastes, their goal is not less government, it is protecting S.S. from more government. Just like the voters like raising taxes on "the Other guy". You, me, and Roger don't like the current amount of government, but we are a small minority, made smaller by the endless stupid "Third Parties" that keep spinning off the Republican party. I do not mock Third parties because of "party loyalty", I mock them because they have been tried, and they didn't just fail, they CRATERED. The Bull Moose party gave us the American Fascist, W. Wilson, who's idiot idea of "Ethnic self determination" set the World aflame. Those flames burn us to this day. The Reform Party gave us Pornstar, and our missile tech to the Chinese Communists, and a possible return to MAD. Those are the most "successful" third parties since the Civil War. The Libertarian party, the Constitutional party, The American party, etc; All these parties have done is take away Conservative votes from the Republicans and throw elections to the Democrats. It's depressingly, obviously stupid. It's the act of a teenager who can't be bothered to understand why his dad "Sold out to the Man". Look, the parties aren't going to go away. Even if Ron Paul got elected in a fluke, the Republicans and the Democrats would unite to stop him, as Jesse V. found out. If you are up to running the Country, you are certainly up to taking over one of the Political Parties. If you can't convince a fourth of the Country to follow you, you sure are not going to handle ALL of the Country, and that's why Third Parties are, by definition, stupid.

the MSM doesn't have the Vote, we do -- No, they don't. They just control the flow of information which most use to make their voting decisions.

The Republicans are dealing with the issue -- LMFAO. I'm sorry; I phrased that badly. The Republicans are dealing with Gov't intruding into every area of our lives with contradictory rules and regs that no one could possibly know all of? How?

the Voters have made it clear they like the amount of Government they have -- The ever-increasing amount, most of which they are unaware of? Well then all is lost for Free Individuals and The Great Experiment has failed.

What do people who wish to be Free do now?

Or is that question also "depressingly, obviously stupid"?

Robert Mitchell Jr. said...

Hmm, maybe you guys should work on getting control of the MSM then, instead of wasting everyone's time and lots of your money trying to get Ron Paul elected....
As best they can, by deregulating every chance they get, as when they deregulated the Airlines, and when they deregulated the Oil industry, and as W did with Medicare drugs. They do a pretty good job, given how hard it is to pull up headless nails. Pretty much takes the Presidency, a filibusterer proof majority in the Senate, and a veto proof majority in the House. We saw that after the Civil War, FDR, and Obama. Clue!

For you, perhaps. Things were worse under Carter, and the Powers that Be are not coping well with the Internet, are they?

"Depressingly, obviously stupid"? Oh, God, yes! Just going to sit on your ass and pout? When a group of Democrats/Communists in San Francisco wanted to be Free, they went to Africa and founded Jonestown. Lots of places in the World where you can be Free with just the occasional payoff to the cops. So why are you still here? Because you value Safety over Freedom. Funny that. Quit filling your diaper, and get involved.
