Preparing their doctoral dissertations on the reasons for the collapse of the US during the 21st century, future history students will very likely coin the term “The Great Aplomb Bomb” or something like that to symbolize the total loss of ethics and dignity in the executive branch of government. Prob’ly looks very striking and stylish as a Kanji ideograph. Or maybe something more solemn, such as “Dignity Takes a Holiday.”

They’ll very likely begin with Nixon, showing his stereotypical “I am not a crook” pose while bringing international shame to the office via his paranoia and megalomania, not to mention his “Sock it to me?” appearances on Laugh-In. Next Jimmah Carter’s “lusted in my heart” and the now infamous attack rabbit will be trotted out to show a slide to anti-machismo and “kinder, gentler” leadership.

Slick’s “I did NOT have sex with that woman” then will be showcased, very likely along with references to his Gennifers and all the rest of his escapades, along with the “boxers or briefs” discussion. And finally there’ll be the plethora of foxpaws and complete diplomatic failures by a completely ineligible dog-eating fraud who completely destroyed both the reputation and treasury of the country, laughing all the way to the Nobel, an Oscar, a Tony, and probably a pair of Grammys, one for mooing and the other for reading jokes someone else wrote for him.

I like the fact that Kimble zinged everyone but I found his wit and delivery flat. Obama is much more ridiculous than Jimmy let on. And his Lincoln joke really was a far reaching egg of a joke.
