SEIU KNOX-OUT

THIS JUST IN
SEIU KNOX'd OUT

Res Ipsa Loquitur

The court ruled for Dianne Knox and other nonmembers of the Service Employees International Union's Local 1000, who wanted to object and opt out of a $12 million special assessment the union required from its California public sector members for political campaigning. Knox and others said the union did not give them a legally required notice that the increase was coming.

The union, and the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, said the annual notice that the union gives was sufficient. The high court disagreed in a 7-2 judgment written by Justice Samuel Alito. [Full AP]

Not the Big One, but still important.  The SCOTUS today handed unions another set-back, and this is especially delicious because the primary was the SEIU, upon which Obama, and Demorats. are dependent for cash and field work.  The other thrill up my leg is that, for the 5,897,763rd time, by my count, The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals was reversed.

Note, I am surprised by the 7-2 decision:  I woulda guessed 5-4.  There have been a few more recent rulings the same way, where I was surprised over the libtard vote.  I can't help but worry that there is a quid pro quo at work here — by the liberal justices to gain the deciding vote in Obamacare (which looks like Monday).
I know, silly.  But the Obamacare decision is the most important decision in SCOTUS history, IMO.  If they don't strike it down,  this nation  is unalterably changed.  So I worry.

Well it looks like Obama's Bad Week is now the Month of June. I suspect that Obama's bad mouthing and not so subtle threats toward the Supreme Court are going to come back on him for the rest of the year due to all the law suits that are winding their way up the ladder to the court. The Catholic law suits, the voter ID law suits, the law suits against the EPA, and etc. I just got through reading that a number of the far left bloggers and comenters have turned on Obama because of use of "Executive Privilege" on the fast and furious fiasco. "Transparency my ass." was one. The next bad week will be called July. The Administration keeps throwing domestic turkeys out of the helicopter and expecting them to fly each and every time.

Can I ask whyinhell does the CALIFORNIA SEIU need a 'special assessment' for political purposes when CA is going to vote D anyway?
Oh, nevermind. I just realized they were making an 'investment' in DC politics (another ChooChoo?) to get a boatload of Federal Dollars for some idiotic project employing SEIU members. The payback ratio favors SEIU.
BTW, back when, an employee represented by the CWA could opt out of political contributions(this in CA), and get that portion of union dues refunded. Took two small acts of God, 5 forms and a miracle to get the $4 (ha!) check out of much higher dues that supposedly represented the dollars spent on political stuff. I lied about the $4, it may have been less.
