USDA and The Enemy Within - PeTA

       WHAT GUMMINT DOES

“Pointing to the United Nations as their informational authority, the USDA’s newsletter said that going meatless is good for the environment because “animal agriculture is a major source of greenhouse gases and climate change. It also wastes resources. It takes 7,000 kg of grain to make 1,000 kg of beef. In addition, beef production requires a lot of water, fertilizer, fossil fuels, and pesticides.” It further charged that heavy meat consumption has detrimental health effect. [full]

Another example of how liberals in power assume the right to impose their usually wacky principles on everyone. That they are yet another agency to use the UN as a guideline (as do at least thee SCOTUS justices) is also problematical.  This USDA's  July 23, 2012 “ Greening Headquarters Update” is a gagger.  But never fear; the Barn Army have  infiltrated the USDA—  she has received instructions.

Actual; PeTA Punlication (sans USDA tag)

I encourage all Democrats to go 100% veggy. And of course the FedGov is little more than a Democrat employment program.

So when do we get to the bad part here?

Speaking as a would-be animal-killer (there's a reason they call it "hunting" instead of "getting") let's not kill the messenger here. As for "greenhouse gases", they can bite me, but using their figures, you have to admit 7000 kg of grain going into 1000 kg of meat is pretty inefficient. I'm not real pleased with eating the residue of the fatten-up hormones they give the cattle in feedlots either. I'm looking forward to eating some grass-fed venison ... some day ...

I encourage all Democrats to eat me.

I am an indirect vegetarian - I only eat herbivores. OK, maybe an occasional omnivore.

I think it's a grand idea. All bureaucrats should go without meat and any other food. To add to this reduction in environmental damage, they should quit drinking water.

If they did this, the change to the environment would happen within two weeks.

The change to my disposition would be immediate.

David: You should try Gator some time. Come on, expand your horizons -- eat a carnivore, too!

I've had gator - it was good. However my (at the time) 95 year old cajun grandmother-in-law turned her nose up at it saying "I ain't never eat'n no lizard and I ain't gonna start now."

Maybe I should clarify - I usually only eat herbivores, with an occasional omnivore tossed in for variety. I have nothing against eating carnivores, just where I live, the socially acceptable ones to eat, are not easily accessible.

And yet it is doubtless that the liberal double standard plays with many of these idiots. The same who oppose fishing and hunting would be the first ones in line at the abortion clinic and not see the irony

I-RIGHT-I said...

That shouldn't be a problem for the Democrats and many of the GOP elite. They've been meatless since they got us into the Vietnam War. May God have no mercy.

Does this mean that the Whitehouse will have to skip the Wagu beef?

Just remember, 70% of the land in just the US is not arable. Meaning that in order to utilize it you need grazer to eat what grows there naturally, like grass and shrub. So we have beef, sheep and goats to eat it and then we eat them. If they would quit bolstering the corn growers with ethanol, much of the land that is being farmed for corn would go back for cow feed. End of problem. Also remember, they can not raise the rest of thew world up to our standard, so they have to tear us down to the rest. Go to a third world country and ask how many of them would like a nice piece of beef or lamb or goat....

I'll bet most of these suits at the USDA have never milked a cow or plucked a chicken. Dayum city slickers.

Show me ANY gummint bottom feeder who would pass on the chance for a good steak dinner at the tax payer's expense. And while we're at it, WHY IN HEAVEN'S NAME is ANYONE in this nation listening to ANYTHING coming out of the U.N.? To these old ears it all sounds like f-rts!
