Res Ipsa Loquitor

This isn't the first time e-mail has been sent in my name, but it is the first time I've been the recipient and therefore know about it in real time.  So, I am not operating as vladimer rozhko (Russian for Russian Commie Asshole). Just in case.

You know you're having an effect when they mess with you.

They do that when they get a hold of email lists from compromised windows machines. Send you correspondents virus laden crap links.

Which is why I just use webmail interfaces and talk to my email service directly, instead of using POP and smtp clients.

If it ain't on my machine when it gets compromised, they can't glean info from it.

It happened to me. I fixed it by calling my internet provider and changing the password for e-mail. Yes, to do that the e-mail provider has to do it on their end too.
