A Lost Wallet Found





“In 1970, Rudolph R. Resta, 37, left his wallet in a jacket pocket in an unattended coat closet on the second floor of The New York Times headquarters at 229 West 43rd Street, where he worked as an art director in the promotion department.

“When Mr. Resta went to fetch his jacket at lunchtime that day, the wallet was gone. He wasn’t to see it again for 40 years.

Lost and found treasures.

This week I needed to store some of my mother's bric-a-brac to make way for remodeling. Amongst her collection of tea cups, I found a surprise. Across 3 centuries, thousands of miles, and the hands of 4 generations: A ghost in a cup.
