The retard probably used gasoline as an accelerant.
The stuff is stupidly dangerous. The fumes get in everything, and they are nearly explosive.
If you need to set a fire, say yard debris or the like, use diesel.
If you need to burn an American flag, I guess gasoline is ok. -

Don't forget that most flags are made of nylon or polyester, so a good whiff of that smoke has all sorts of broken hydrocarbon polymer chains that stick to the lungs quite well.

Actually, this dead guy might be on to something.
Before they leave the factory, treat all flags with a substance that puts out toxic, killer fumes when lit.
