Swiss Prepare Army for Euro Zone Fallout

Res Ipsa Loquitor

With anti-austerity protests across Europe resulting in civil unrest on the streets of Athens and Madrid, the European country famed for its neutrality is taking unusual precautions.

Switzerland launched the military exercise “Stabilo Due” in September to respond to the current instability in Europe and to test the speed at which its army can be dispatched. The country is not a member of the union or among the 17 countries that share the euro. [Full]

In response, the servile French, having elected a Communist government, are preparing for battle on their own peculiar way.

‘Parent 1’ and ‘parent 2’ could legally replace mom and dad in France

The economy?  Again their Communist government comes to the rescue.  They will simply raise taxes as required to maintain their workers paradise,

Until the Moslems take over.

Die Schweiz are the world's most successful political parasites. When the Euro host falls, there is nothing their popgun army can do to keep the lights on.

It is true that the Swiss ain't as sweet as their chocolate but they have a wealthy, heavily armed society and complete control of all land routes into their country. If I were a European, I would want to be Swiss.

One of the reasons Switzerland is so rich is that a) its constitution is closely modeled on the U.S. Constitution and b) they haven't allowed their jurists and legislators to trash it, as we have done in the U.S. The Helvetic Confederation have a small, limited central government, like we had before Wilson.

I admire their independence, but they have sheltered a lot of illicit wealth for centuries. Does anyone think that coo-coo clocks and candies can really keep them in the first world

They've been sliding some toward gun-bigotry the last few years, otherwise seem to be holding up.

Wasn't it about a year ago one canton or city voted not to allow a mosque to be built(or maybe just the prayer tower) because of the people associated with it?
