Then there's this - California lawmakers hand out pay raises amid cuts

-Meanwhile, thousands of state employees are being required to take one day a month of unpaid leave, which amounts to a pay cut of about 5 percent. The reduction was part of the state budget that lawmakers approved last month and signed by Brown.
 [Money Shot follows]
"Union members had furloughs, which has resulted in pay cuts, but in the meantime they have continued to receive merit step increases, which have offset those pay cuts," said Williams, of Steinberg's office. "So the notion that there is some sort of imbalance there is not right. They have continued to receive merit step increases, which the Senate has just frozen."

And Finally - Unemployment rate dropped in EVERY state that elected a Republican governor in 2010!

"Martin O'Malley" - that says it all.

Do you know how impossibly hard that is?  To lead the nation in job loss when a majority are emolyed by government, or government contratctors?   Way to go Martin O'Malley, you Marxist berk!

As for the second item.  Romney camp asks Va. to probe voter forms

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's campaign is asking Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli to launch an investigation into voter-registration forms that are being sent to Virginia residents and addressed to deceased relatives, children, family pets and others ineligible to vote.

The errant mailings from the Washington-based nonprofit group Voter Participation Center have befuddled many Virginia residents, leading to hundreds of complaints.

The organization has been mass-mailing the forms — pre-populated with key information such as names and addresses — to primarily Democratic-leaning voting blocs such as young adults, unmarried women, African-Americans and Latinos.

Let's interpolate a little.  What are they going to do with the returned forms?  Especially from the deceased,  and Lassie?  A payoff requires some mechanism that will make sure all  the newly registered actually vote, and for the right person.  Which is where the absentee ballot comes in.  Right?

Some years ago Singapore announced that pickpockets would henceforth be summarily executed.  A few hours later, one was.  The next day there were no pockets picked.  It's that simple.  Voter fraud is far more serious.  Without it Obamacare, et.al.,  could never have passed.  And yes, I do admire Francis Urquhart.

Congress Couldn't Balance the Budget even if it Shut Down Government

ALARMING! Washington's Dilemma!. Soaring debt and a budget Congress can't balance. This VIDEO explains WHY. Over 957,000 VIEWS!

The question that must be answered is— Will President Romney have the political strength and the will to unshackle the US economy?  That means suspending all restrictions on business growth and start-ups, and I do mean all environmental and other impediments, including use of federal land and imposing severe restrictions on tort lawyers.  Because they are the only chance we have to create the necessary wealth to forestall the disintegration of our national infrastructure, with all that entails.   If Obama wins in November, or Democrats control either congressional  house, there is zero hope.  Have a nice day.

Commie drones other than congressional democrats

Police State Culture

There was the arms race, then the space race, and now a spy on Joe and Mary Doe race.

Small surveillance drones are starting to be part of police departments across America, and the FAA will soon open up the airspace for more to come. This drone invasion has already raised all kinds of privacy concerns. And if you think that’s bad, across the ocean, Russia seems hell-bent on outdoing its former Cold War enemy. [Need More?]

My first take: Commie drones other than the Congressional Black Caucus.  Anything further I could add to your own thoughts would be coals to Newcastle.

[...] Kaspersky’s rise is particularly notable—and to some, downright troubling—given his KGB-sponsored training, his tenure as a Soviet intelligence officer, his alliance with Vladimir Putin’s regime, and his deep and ongoing relationship with Russia’s Federal Security Service, or FSB. Of course, none of this history is ever mentioned in Cancun.

What is mentioned is Kaspersky’s vision for the future of Internet security—which by Western standards can seem extreme. It includes requiring strictly monitored digital passports for some online activities and enabling government regulation of social networks to thwart protest movements. “It’s too much freedom there,” Kaspersky says, referring to sites like Facebook. James Hansen says Greenland is Melting. Yawn.

GREEN CRAP

GREENLAND IS MELTING!

On average in the summer, about half of the surface of Greenland’s ice sheet naturally melts. At high elevations, most of that melt water quickly refreezes in place. Near the coast, some of the melt water is retained by the ice sheet and the rest is lost to the ocean. But this year the extent of ice melting at or near the surface jumped dramatically. According to satellite data, an estimated 97 percent of the ice sheet surface thawed at some point in mid-July.

Researchers have not yet determined whether this extensive melt event will affect the overall volume of ice loss this summer and contribute to sea level rise. [Dvorak Uncensored]

The wise blogger will aways check in with James Watt in these matters; in this case Greenland Ice Melt every 150 years is ‘right on time’   In addition, blithely reporting Algore inspired (and often subsidized)  climate-crap, using NASA's James Hansen as a source, doubles the recklessness and trebles the damage to ones reputation.  Ahem.

Not for the first time, actual scientists at NASA have bitch slapped Mr. Hansen. The crux of their letter is this:

As former NASA employees, we feel that NASA’s advocacy of an extreme position, prior to a thorough study of the possible overwhelming impact of natural climate drivers is inappropriate. We request that NASA refrain from including unproven and unsupported remarks in its future releases and websites on this subject.

Will he be fired this time?  When hell freezes over, it seems.
