Today's tip to the gentlemen: A pinch of lecithin does wonders to emulsify oil and vinegar into delicious salad dressing.

Oh, you want car stuff? Ok, here's how I mount a 16 foot kayak on a 13 foot car.

Don't recipe book usually refer to that as 'drizzling'?

My wife knows more about cars than most guys now, but back before Disco she did ask once how she was suppossed to add oil to the engine through that tiny little dipstick hole.... ;-)

Helly, the geek equivalent - a 16ft canoe on a 12.5ft jeep. That's the main reason I bought a 9.5 Swifty as my first kayak - no creative tie downs needed.

While working on a girlfriend's car, I told 'er to stand behind the car and let me know if the right-rear turn signal was working.
She said, "Yes, no, yes, no, yes …"

Non-detergent oil I hope.

She didn't ignore the light. That gets her a pass in my estimation.

I've been fiddling around cars for near 50 years. Did you ever try to find the dipstick on a late model Mercedes-Benz?
They don't have one. Got out the inch-thick owners manual to try to find what the deal was. Apparently the sump holds 10-12 quarts of synthetic {Whoa Nelly, what a bill for an oil change..!!} and somehow it monitors both quantity of lube and its 'life', and lets you know how many miles you can travel before it will demand an oil change.
Big Brother lives under your hood, I guess....

Wife's BMW 328xi is same way. Push a button on the stalk and the car tells on a screen how much oil is left, % wise. They recommend 15K miles between oil change but I still do it at 7500 miles. Very large difference from back in the 50's when standard was 3K miles.
