McCain-Obama Twins

"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a

good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what
 the hell." TRKOF&S

The relationship to watch most closely is the one between McCain and Schumer.

His record as a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy was dismal. He piled up demerits left and right for breaking the rules, and barely passed his schoolwork, graduating 894th in a class of 899.

He barely passed flight school. And then he crashed two airplanes and damaged a third.

How McCain got away with crashing two airplanes and smashing power lines in Spain was a mystery, although other pilots thought it had to do with his family connections.
A year ago, they weren’t even friends. They fought over matters big, like legislation, and small, like whether Long Island should be part of the United States. After McCain said Long Island was “regrettably” a part of our nation, Schumer demanded an apology. “I’m sorry there’s at least one of my colleagues that can’t take a joke,” McCain said on the Senate floor.

The two first got together late last year, on a successful effort to defuse a previous threat of the nuclear option with a proposal for filibuster reform. “McCain and I sort of bonded over stale Danish,” Schumer said. Still, they didn’t jell.

Sen. Lindsey Lohan Graham urged Schumer to make sure McCain joined the Gang of Eight working on immigration reform. [Full]

I've developed pretty good political instincts after watching the zoo for 80+ years, and all of them start barking whenever John McCain is the subject.  There are too many of McCain's Hanoi Hilton  roommates, and other Res Ipsa LoquitorVietnam vets who despise him.  This is a pretty tight and exclusive fraternity, and that sort of thing just does not happen without cause.

When John Kerry was exposed (Swift-boated) as a lying, self-serving fraud by his Swift Boat comrades, McCain was quick to protest, and ally himself with Kerry in solidarity.  Complaints that he was a terrible pilot don't mean squat to me (I was too), but his actions over the years are those of either a madman, or a Manchurian Candidate,

I've posted this video twice before.  In the intervening years since the 2008 election, the premise that Obama and McCain, and by inference the GOP and DNC, are two sides of the same coin have made more sense than not.   At best, McCain has done far more harm than good in Washington.  I don't like nor trust him.

Huh. Who'd have thunk it?

Jay Carney...the eponymy is deep in this one.

"the eponymy..."

Cain would be (is) mortified in the comparison to John McCain. The passion of envy and revenge can be understood and even forgiven...treason, never.

Is this the same Ted Stampley that wrote this garbage?

"His World War II jump is historic. It made Bush the only president to ever bail out of an airplane and the only president whose crew mates were sent careening into the ocean because their pilot had abandoned the aircraft."

The guy was right about Kerry, and we know McCain was a sorry ass, and the slightly lesser of two suckass evils. However, McCain can't lift his arms above his head. We have video of him. He did go down with his plane, and he was tortured. What he did when he was freed, the politician he became, we can all heckle, as well we should. I can't really go along with the minimizing of the five years he spent as a POW, though.

Ted Stampley was a veteran who did a lot of work for other veterans. He should be commended for that. Beyond that however he seemed like a major league a-hole angry at life.

I'd humor you Josh but you're not of mind to listen. Point is, you don't know any more than I do. His arm was broken in the crash and ruined for lack of medical attention. Where's this hero worship of yours come from, habit? He was a nasty young f'er and now he's a nasty old f'er and a traitor. You think like a little girl.

iri,

I suppose every blog has to have at least one closed-minded, over-opinionated, loud-mouthed, bloviating, self-important, how-dare-you-have-an-opinion-different-than-mine, jackass.

...guess that makes you ours.

McCain is my Senator.
While the last decade has proven to me that he has become a traitorous whore, I will not disparage the man regarding his service and suffering while a prisoner of war.
Many 1st-hand accounts report that he distinguished himself well and endured treatment that very few of us can imagine.

...that said...I really wish the son-of-a-bitch would retire and take his addle-brained daughter with him.

"McCain is my Senator"

You said it. McTraitor is all yours and the rest of good GOP trusting boobs in Bumfuz USA that don't know the difference between right and wrong. By the way, many other first hand accounts have him pissing his pants and trading favors just like he's doing now. Do you know who's telling the truth?

MCcain is lowest depths of hell of what working military people refer to as "the white table cloth crowd".

He is the military equivalent of the ultimate silver spoon. Gramps and Daddy were the CNO. His application for Annapolis was typed by the secretary of the Navys ultimate commander. Was there ever any doubt he would be accepted? Any doubt he would get jets out of flight school? Yeah, he did his duty, on his way to CNO part tre.

Face it, he is an aristocratic elitist from his first day. He has no tie to the common man/enlisted man.

The NVA made this mans legend. Fact is, they were kin, his lineages comes from the Roosevelt socialist globalists. He has never been a conservative.

Please share with the world these first hand accounts. They sound like the stuff of one of your wet dreams.

FishStyx said...

iri,

You misunderstand.
When I say he is "mine", I lay no claim to the scumbag. Only that he is mine in that I live in Arizona.
Anon @ 10:27 is correct in defining the man as a born elitist.
He is locally referred to as "unavoidable for comment" as he is CONSTANTLY on television and radio making "nice noises" about whatever he is pushing and pandering to his supporters.
The point of my post was not to defend John McCain or act as his lapdog, as you seem to believe, but to point out that maybe you can dial down the smart-assed vitriol towards the other commenters here on Rodgers site.
Over the past few months you have appeared to be taking a greater and greater pleasure in making snarkier and snarkier comments about folks here whos opinions or statements don't quite measure up to what you think they should be.
We're all cordial strangers here at Rodgers little rest-stop from the rest of the world. We don't need set straight or corrected or chastised or mocked if we don't quite measure up to your standards. We all have bosses and ex-spouses and politicians to do that for us.
Give it a rest.
Thanks!

Nonsense. I'm always the voice of reason and self control. (insert smiley face here) Even your name calling doesn't bother me.
