This will get ZERO air time.

Local news stations have a compact with and a license from the city they operate in to "serve the public interest". Any local news affiliate that doesn't run that story with film or snaps should lose their license to operate. I am so sick of this.

I've run out of curse words. Only Dems can make that happen.

Heard this on my commute home -- Bill LuMaye show on WPTF. I have a 15 minute commute. So, kinda like zero air time on local media, except not really.

Ok, now I've got to google "Bill LuMaye show on WPTF" and find out where you live. Oh, wait...never mind Steve. :-) <=smiley face.

I was mainly speaking to the convenant tv stations have with the locals. All your AM talk radio already belong to us. We need to figure out how that came about and make it work for TV. Then we start winning.

"Take over TV like we took over talk radio." Love the optimism there, iri. Get back to us when you've got a plan.

In the meantime, I'll keep getting my news from reliable sources on the Internet (and Bill LuMaye :) and I'll keep sharing those alternative sources with friends that are open to it and by doing so try to undermine their blind faith in the legacy media.

Google "Michael Crichton Gell-Mann amnesia effect" to get the idea.

Every local network affiliate has a charter and license issued to it pursuant to the 1934 communications act. Every year local citizens are invited to review that charter and submit comments and recommendations.

The FCC issues the licenses and the US Congress supposedly controls the FCC. If the local affiliates are not serving the public interest the FCC can revoke the license.

What constitutes "public interest" is fluid and amendable by law and the boards that operate the local affiliates are very susceptible to public opinion. That should give you an idea of at least one way to influence the local stations.

General Electric for example, scum bags that they are in that way are accountable to the people. Getting people interested in making changes in what is aired locally is the real problem. It always comes down to us.

So we are going to get the FCC to revoke the licenses of local TV stations who merely regurgitate the “news” fed them by the NYT, AP and the other members of the national legacy media?

Ain’t happening. Let’s review the players.

FCC: Government bureaucracy staffed by Statists (big government Marxists). Think Lois Lerner at the IRS.

National legacy media: Marxist courtiers (bootlickers) for the Total State, people who live for the approval of Comrade Barky, whose fondest hope is that they will get a job in Barky’s administration.

Local legacy media: The farm teams of the national legacy media, people whose fondest hope that they will be called up to big leagues.

The Public: At least 20% of the public are devout Marxists themselves (aka Democrats) and have the time (meaning they have no job) and inclination to attend hearings. In North Carolina, we have the American Criminal Liberties Union and the NAALCP holding “Moral (Moron) Mondays” and “Witness (Witless) Wednesdays” protesting horrible things like voter ID, balanced budgets, etc. implemented by the Republicans who control state government in Raleigh.

So the major players are either members of the Ruling Class or wannabes. And enough of the public are Marxists to give the major players cover for doing what they want – continuing the legacy media lie machine.

Ain’t happening.
