MSNBC-WSJ Poll
You probably saw Throw the bums out on Drudge.  Given that it's an MSNBC story, I wanted to see the polling questions (which you can find here).  It stops short of being a  push-pull poll, but as you can see those polled were 44% Obama voters v. 35% Romney voters.  So there's that.

Also in the mix of Drudge headlines today is  GOP approval rating hits lowest point in Gallup poll history. What does that mean?   The world of  good versus evil is traditionally  Republicans v Democrats, but that's now a distortion.  If  voting for a  Republican will get me a George Bush instead of an Al Gore,  or a John Kerry, it's no contest. But distinctions  between the two parties, once in office, are small.  I am Teaparty Republican, a distinction this poll seems to recognize (3)..

Adding then the very positive approval of  Republicans (7) and Tea Party (9)  results in 16-14 edge over the very positive Dem approvals).  The numbers in  (8) similarly give the Teaparty/GOP amalgam a 45-39% win over the Dems.   Obama's 47% approval belies the numbers of other polls that show him at historical lows.

The other tables also speak for themselves here.  I numbered them to make comments easier, if there are to be any.  This poll exercise then is, per usual, nothing more than Democrat Media  making news they can then spin into gold from the fecal matter they began with.

America today. You need a poll to tell you what to think. If the idiots ever run a real conservative they will be flabbergasted by the landslide.

I have low regard for the current Republican Party. That being said, I've got a Precinct Committee Person's meeting on the 24th. You have to go with the army you have...

I think one of the greatest P.R. stunts the Democrats have ever pulled is this idiot idea that "the distinction between the two parties, once in office, are small.". Show me the Republican Detroit, and I might start to believe you. As it is, I saw the the most RINO of RINOs did in New York City, after the Democrats had turned it into a human pit......

"the distinction between the two parties, once in office, are small."

Actually, that was my idea. I came up with that about the same time every other conservative in the USA noticed that for the past 30 years the Republicans and Democrats are in lock-step on the important issues when it comes down to the nut cutting. We really don't have two political parties just a lot of noise to make people think we do.

Robert M. Mitchell Jr. said...

Again, Iri, name the Republican Detroit. Name the Republican Ted Kennedy. For all the "We really don't have two political parties", odd that all the failure is one the Democrat side. Do they keep losing the coin toss (Odd that would be the only thing the Democrats would do honestly.....)?

Huh? Name the Republican in Detroit? What the 'ell has Detroit got to do with the f'ing progressive GOP?. Ted Kennedy? Oh, wait I get it. You think the GOP is just honestly getting beaten at every turn. No collusion, no hidden agenda, no central theme or rhyme or reason to the laws that get passed with the support of both sides. It's just an accident that happens over and over and over again?

There is no failure on the Progressive side. They win and they are getting ready to win again. Stay tuned to the debt and Obamacare debate and get back to me on that in case having your country fall down around your head right this moment and for the past 30 years isn't convincing enough.

My point on Detroit is simple. If the Republicans were as corrupt as the Democrats, we would expect to see Republican Rotten boroughs, places as bad off as the Democrats have done to Detroit, and similar places. Name one, if you can....

Please, the fact you think the GOP is getting beaten every turn shows how successful the Democrat lies have eaten your mind. We have seen the Democrats lose on their Gun Control drive for over twenty years. The Second Amendment is the strongest it's been in a hundred years. The Pro-Life movement goes from strength to strength, winning every venue save the Courts. Note the sad new "Hero of the Democrats", who made her bones by stopping, by a few days, Republican lawmakers forcing regulation on Abortion Clinics in Texas. Not something "Winners" need to do. Behold Wisconsin, where the Democrats were reduced to fleeing the state in a failed attempt to stop the Republican Governor from breaking the Unions, breaking the "Progressives" in their birthplace. Yep, "Winners", all. Witness the Republican turning New York around after the Democrats had turned it into a Hellhole.

So much failure on the Progressive side, for those who can see with eyes unclouded by Hate. Yes, the debt is an issue, but that was caused by people like you, lacking in any sense of proportion, "Porkbusters". Porkbusters was a "Real Republican(TM)" attack on Republicans, because they stupidly believed, as you still do, that "It's both sides". So they gave control of Congress to the Democrats (To "teach the Republicans a lesson!"), and, of course, the Deficit exploded TEN-FOLD. But, at least they dealt with the Earmark problem that the Republicans had, they just got rid of the Republican law that required they be reported...... I don't understand how anyone could claim that "both parties are about the same", with the very obvious evidence. Ten-fold increase in the Deficit, Detroit, Ted Kennedy? And on the Republican side? You have nothing but nameless feelings that "There is no failure on the Progressive side."?

The Last thirty years? Please. Are you too young to know about Carter? The Threat of Nuclear war, the Energy Crisis, and Gas Rationing? We would be in a better position if Perot had not followed the "Real Republican(TM)" lead in attacking the Republicans for not being pure enough, giving the Presidency to Pornstar (Twice!). But things are better. We are safer (I will take raghead BBQ over Nukes any day of the week), richer (and oh how the Progressives hate that!), and freer (Yes, really. You would not be able to preach your gospel of Failure thirty years ago, save by standing on a street corner.). Gun Rights have gotten so much better, Concealed Carry, and "Shall Issue"? Not the law for the majority of states thirty years ago.

You and people like you have been preaching "Doom", and "The Democrats can't be stopped!" for all my life. Life keeps getting better, and you guys have handed the Democrats their recent great victories. Perhaps it's time to get a clue.

"in" is correct. The republican mainstream is only marginally different from the democrats, and the difference is in the figurative Detroits and Kennedys they create and maintain.

Witness the last republican majoritiy in Congress, with the "compassionate conservative" GWB leading the way, and the outrateous spending spree and cronyism over which they presided.

Even in the early days of the GOP, post-Civil War, republican corruption and waste was becoming entrenched. Think back to the railroads and trusts.

"...the parting on the left, is now parting on the right..."

Party loyalties should be dumped unless one is going for the libertarian leaning takeover of the GOP to make it into a whole 'nother thing. Then, in a few years, we'll have to do it again.

Else, the idea of Banana Republicanism may ripen.

Yes, JD, witness the last Republican Majority in Congress (Hope I've done this right), http://blog.heritage.org/2009/03/24/bush-deficit-vs-obama-deficit-in-pictures/. Note that, after gearing up for the War, the Deficit was going down, down, down, until the Democrats and the Press spun their lies, using big numbers (as opposed to percentages, which are used once they are in office) to "create" a none existent spending spread. Note the actual spending spree, which started with the Democrat Congress put in there with the Real Republican(TM) tantrum lead by Porkbusters.

As to "republican corruption and waste", please. Again, name a Republican Detroit. Name a Republican Ted Kennedy. There will always be corruption and waste, as long as there are human being running the government. What you are left with is the choice of corruption on a human scale (Gosh! Toe Tapping! Will the Republic Survive?!?) and Corruption on the Democrat, Stalin scale, ending with the deaths of Millions if not the race of reason. That you can look at W's shrinking deficits (In a time of War!), and equate that to the Party that gave the Atomic Bomb to the Soviets, and MAD to the World? Damn, the Democrats are good at propaganda!

republican ted kennedy same-same lindsey graham and john mccain. Hate to say the latter, but, there it is.

Not gonna spend the rest of my day checking for replies. If I wanna argue, my wife will be home before long.

The drug lords? Please. Created by the Democrats (who started the Drug war so their thugs would have employment after Prohibition was ended, when our troops came home) and protected by the Democrats, who refuse the "nation building" that would be required to stop them. Not a Republican project at all, just a bandaid, because we have to "Do something!" (Ah, Democracy.....).

Pathetic. Ted Kennedy murdered at least one woman we know of, was part of at least one rape we know of, and admitted to despoiling over a thousand women. We caught him committing actual Treason! http://www.canadafreepress.com/2006/burtis110506.htm. And the Democrats vetted him, called him "The Lion of the Senate", and well neigh destroyed the country so that he could have "his legacy", National Health Care. And you would put Lindsey Graham and John McCain on that level because they have not always voted the way you want? And you wonder why the Democrats keep winning, despite being the minority party. They crawl through the most fetid of sewers backing their leaders, while you and yours throw ours out the moment you see a bruise, despite the fact you refuse to enter the ring! Sigh. Anyone got an Actual example of Republican corruption, where the Republicans circled the wagons, turned them into a hero? An example of a Republican Ted Kennedy?

Bob you're wearing me out but I love your optimism. You're defending the GOP like I used to defend George W. That will change.

The rules of our system are clear. In our "Winner take all" setup, it will always be a two party choice. Our choices are Stupid or Evil, and at least stupid gets it right about half the time.

Let me ask a question of those of you who voted for the Libertarian for president in 2012 (whoever it was) or who stayed home because Romney wasn't pure enough for you.

Is America better off with Obama?

Robert M. Mitchell Jr. said...

Amen brother! America has yet to recover from the damage the first real third party run did. Teddy Roosevelt gave us the monster Wilson, and the idiot idea of "Ethnic Self Determination", setting the World on fire, fire that has yet to go out.....
