"Through Work There is Joy; Click Click" - MAO

American business has become a gray area. As in hair color.

Call it the new American nightmare: Running out of money in retirement is scaring the hell out of record numbers of older workers, forcing them to stay in the workforce.

Now 80 is the new 60 when it comes to retirement. Many older workers who finally clock out have sharply underestimated their financial needs in retirement, raising the specter of personal financial disaster.
“Most clients are about to turn 60 or right after it, preparing for retirement, and their concern [is]: Are they going to have enough money to live through retirement?” said Jeff Speight, a financial planner and manager at Tanglewood Wealth Management. “Their main problem is, they don’t understand what to do.” [Full]

Yeah, but the AARP is just a Democrat haven for old farts. What did Ryan expect would happen?

...because you can't afford it until you're dead.

I suspect that isn't the only place Paul Ryan has worn out his welcome. It would be nice if he removed his head from Gutierez's ass, for starters.

He and a few others are dead to me, there is no reincarnation for them.

"There is a solution to the problem"

Works for me as long as that's what you get and all you get with your food stamps.

No shirt. I retired at 55 with over a quarter million in savings and percentages of my business. Now my investments are worth maybe 100k on a good day, and my businesses have closed. Fortunately, MLK had a dream, and I have a scheme.

Even if we have Weimar style inflation, not necessarily an impossibility, I have a scheme. And a couple of houses, and some other stuff. But most older Americans don't.

You can't afford to retire? Simple. No problem. You want 3 hots and a cot, and medical care? No lawn to mow, no more housekeeping, no dishes to wash, no floor to mop, no rug to vacuum, no drapes to ?? {whaddya do with drapes?}?
All you gotta do is get on a Trailways {do they exist?} and pick out the state with the least crowding, and rob a convenience store. Make sure you have a pen knife, so it's armed. If you like, robbing a bank can be a Federal offense, and they're not so crowded, I think. Club Fed?
Plead guilty, go to jail.
Wonder if that would work if you needed a kneww or hip joint...

Hmmm. If I decide to go to the cross bar hotel, I'm making sure some bureaucrats don't have the opportunity to screw with someone else.
