Libraries are an anachronism. A giant waste of tax dollars. They have devolved into a solution seeking a problem.

Libraries are certainly a breeding ground for undesirables. I use mine quite a bit.

In the little mountain town where my brother lives, (and yes, about 40 miles north of South Park {Fairplay, CO}, the library is across the street from the senior center, and is used much by them; after school the latchkey kids take over the children's room downstairs, and quietly study or monopolize the computers upstairs until their parents get home, then the adults come in to check out books and study for night school downstairs. Pretty busy place all day long. Just needs to be used appropriately.
