Most Terps coaches opposed Big Ten move

It would be nice if we could play OSU with our point guard, but we can't so we'll make do. My only hope in switching conferences is for consistent refs, something no team gets when playing North Carolina teams, especially Dook and Carolina.   Football is now in the Big Ten; Hoops will be after this season.  I won't miss the ACC.

I'm surprised that I have no feeling of loss in this switch.  I think this is why.

ACC  I  Grew Up With
ACC Today
Clemson  Duke Maryland North Carolina NC State South Carolina   Virginia Wake Forest
Boston College Clemson Tigers Duke Blue Devils Florida State Seminoles Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Louisville Cardinals Miami Hurricanes NC State Wolfpack North Carolina Tar Heels Notre Dame Fighting Irish Pittsburgh Panthers Syracuse Orange Virginia Cavaliers Virginia Tech Hokies Wake Forest Demon Deacons

I still don't accept Florida State or Georgia Tech as belonging, and they joined in 1992!  So, while tradition is a meaningful and salutary attribute for any society, we have Obama as president, so there are no traditions left.  I'll go with the flow.

Rodge,
You'll enjoy the Big Ten.
Sh*t just got serious.

Mich lost 42-41 to OSU (now ranked #2 in f'ball) last weekend in the only game that ever really matters to those guys.
It takes a little time to make good enemies, but be patient.
After all, the Yankee/Confederate thing was a late-comer to the first war between the states

Should we lose versus MSU this Saturday in the B1G Championship game, I'll be sanguine. I love Mark D'antonio. He's at least half Buckeye. A loss this past Saturday would have caused a year long depression. Fortunately, all is well, Michigan is our Bitch again.

Radical Ron in Ohio ( Of all places )

C'mon in Maryland! Us Indiana Univ. fans welcome you along with the rest of the Big-10.

Not only are you gonna' free IU up from the lower half of the Big-10 football standings - But - You'll just add another notch to our guns during the basketball season ( The only thing that an IU fan looks forward to during football season )

Maryland,(and Rutgers too) will be a much needed relief to the lower half of the normal Big-10 football standings and a needed break on the basketball schedule for ANY current Big-10 team.

I am MSU all the way in the Big Ten, in solidarity with both my late FIL, and good hunting buddy Mike Homant who lived and dies Green. Plus, I think that, along with erstwhile MD BB coach Gary Williams, MSU's Tom_Izzo‎ were/is the most reputable coach in college hoops.

As an aside, Mike's wife Sarah's uncle was Notre Dame president Rev Theodore Hesburgh. That rivalry was a blood sport in their household.

I've had a fantasy about fielding a football team. I used to own a chain of martial arts schools; once I had a bunch of guys from a hockey team in. The sent two members of the opposing team to the hospital, and the police told them they would have been arrested if they had done that off the ice.

Never been a fan of games where you use a ball, or any such, really. Baseball? Please. They give you a perfectly good club, and you're not allowed to hit anyone???

Lacrosse, I had a couple of girls from one of the local college. That team took state, while they were there.
