Yep. Remember them well. They almost-but-not-quite worked for left-handers. That meant that southpaws hand to do their work turned to about the two o'clock position.
That was bad enough, but it was about 120 degrees advanced from the Optimum Upskirt Viewing Angle.

No, sorry . . . doesn't look like the ones I had in high school back in the 50s. No initials carved in the surface and no scratch marks where obscene comments about certain females were written in indelible ink.

No dents, either. Must be a fotoshop.

That's modern. My desks had an inkwell, and the seat hinged to the scrollwork cast iron frame of the desk behind me.
That's no surprise when you consider I rode with Pershing on his Mexican Punitive Expedition.
I'm not quite as old as TRKoF&S.
