Clark County is the only county in Nevada to require handgun registration. In Germany under the Weimar Republic, people were required to register for public safety. Nothing was done to these people then, but when Hitler's National Socialist Workers Party came to power, they obtained the registration lists, and confiscated their weapons. In the newly formed Soviet Union, many people were allowed to keep their weapons from WW1. They were asked to bring in their weapons for registration. Those who did were shot on the spot. The people of Connecticut should not have to rely on the goodness of heart of their state government, or the federal government. Nor should Nevadans, like me.

According to a story yesterday, the People's Democratic Republic of Connecticut is, after Illinois, the state with the most people, nearly 50%, who want to leave the state. As a resident for 25 years, I believe this is true. I left 4 years ago. CT went from being the wealthiest state per capita, in 1985, to being the state with the most debt per capita, now. Most of the older people I know are waiting to retire "to Florida," or the Carolinas, or such. Many of my younger students left after high school, or college, or marriage, or to start a business or buy a house in some state where the taxes are not so confiscatory.
White flight has hollowed out the cities, who are now demanding more money from "the state," whose productive citizens in the suburbs and towns have given a hearty 'Hell NO!" The corruption in CT is now legalized.
But the day the gun law went into effect, I watched a news article from a CT station with one newsreader complaining that up to 300,000 citizens had failed to comply; the guest commentator added, "That's 300,000 ARMED citizens." and my heart grew three sizes that night. -

This is what is called an 'ex post facto' law in my opinion.
Possession of personal property is a crime when such property was immediately previous totally legal.
They need someone with deep pockets to protest their 'elected' government who is supposed to work for them.

The lady in the vid says she would have kept her guns "if she didn't have so much to lose." Others say the cops won't follow confiscation orders. But put those two statements together: the cops will follow the orders if they think they have more to lose by not following them (their jobs) then otherwise. The people registering/surrendering arms are using the exact same justification the police officers will use to enforce the law.
