No that's a Japanese thing. The horizontal piece sign is supposed to be "kwai" cute that is. It grew in popularity and now Japanese boys and girls through it automatically when ever a camera is aimed at them. As the get older they do it less but if you aim you smartphone camera at some grey haired granny don't be surprised if you get duck lips and a the piece sign.

Blog Japanese girls and naginata. The naginata was used by women to defend when the men were not around. In Japan they use the club system for school athletics and it is considered proper for young ladies to learn the naginata and archery. Some become addicted to it.

There is a trend now for girls to go into high school and college clubs that practice what were traditionally men's martial arts. Kendo, karate, Jujitsu, and etc.
Like all women, a cute looking and acting Japanese girl can be meaner than a snake with a tooth ache and with much nastier bite.
