Sweet 16

Res Ipsa Loquitur        THE 16

Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN)83% should be on this list, but at the last minute it appears House Republican Leaders lied to him to get him to switch his vote. So I cannot include him.

But here are the House Republicans who stood up to their House Republican Leaders. I hope you will consider calling them to thank them. You can call the Capitol Hill switchboard and ask for their offices at (202) 224-3121.

The members are:

  1. Congressman Amash of Michigan
  2. Congresswoman Bachmann of Minnesota
  3. Congressman Brat of Virgina
  4. Congressman Brooks of Alabama
  5. Congressman Broun of Georgia
  6. Congressman Gohmert of TExas
  7. Congressman Gosar of Arizona
  8. Congressman Huelskamp of Kansas
  9. Congressman Jones of North Carolina
  10. Congressman Jordan of Ohio
  11. Congressman King of Iowa
  12. Congressman Labrador of Idaho
  13. Congressman Massie of Kentucky
  14. Congressman Posey of Florida
  15. Congressman Salmon of Arizona
  16. Congressman Stockman of Texas

Friends, they have come under withering attacks from their own leaders for their defiant, heroic act. And their act forced the spotlight onto the sham of a bill, which now is in shambles. They may not have had enough votes to kill the rule, but they made it so close they caused the legislation to crumble.

House leaders are now in chaos.

Call them at (202) 224-3121 and tell them thank you. They need to hear thanks. They need to know they are appreciated.

""I heard about the promise from several sources, and Stutzman wasn't the only one to whom it was made. He was just the only one who bought it," said one highly-connected Capitol Hill source."

so there's that...

Also didn't Tom McClintock [R-CA] vote "Hell No"?

Rodger, that ball and chain on the eagle's leg should have Obozo's picture on the ball.

That's a pathetic few given the Tea party landslide of 2010 that gave Boner the Speakership. I'm happy to report that none of these sweet 16 voted for the bill either.
It's interesting to note that the additional 29 Repub reps that voted against the bill voted ,for the rule that moved the bill to the floor.
If just one of them voted against the rule, the bill would not have left committee without revisions.
I wonder if they did a head count before their vote on the bill to be sure it was a safe, IOW, a "just pretend I'm a conservative" vote?
They are not conservatives nor are they heroes as they might have us think. Something really stinks, and it ain't fish or just Boehner.
