Prolly 'cause you don't know how to deal with them. First you boils some water with vinegar in it, add some Old Bay, then you steam the critters, and it won't hurt if you wear gloves.
Then you gotta know how to pick them. You take a knife and a hammer...

Must be an east coast thing. We have Dungeness crabs out here. Way better.

Rodge.. where do you get your crabs? About the only good thing I can say about my last MD employer was every summer they would have an all you can eat crab picnic.. haven't had any sice we parted ways a couple of years back..
