Trump Towers, Pennsylvania Ave. I guess it's set in stone now.

I wish more buildings were made of stone. Aluminum and glass are too vulnerable to mischief.
That and I could have gotten into the stone derrickman's union 40 years ago. - 9/13/16, 12:02 PM

I'm looking forward to election night when Trump says "Hillary, you're fired."

Back in the 70's, when I lived in the DC area, some local architects and Congressmen tried their best to have the building demolished in order to erect some more modern sterile trash that have come to dominate our cities at the expense of older buildings. A number of locals got organized and raised hell, saving the building.
I love the old stuff; they were built by men, not machines, and were full of textures, depth, color and a feeling of correct proportions and solidness for the ages. Modern crap is too often an exercise of the architect's ego, seeing just how much eye jarring stuff they can throw in our faces. These new buildings are cold, sharp-edged things that say don't touch me, don't use me and to hell with the people who have to work in me; I'm somebody's ego.
From Wiki - In 2013, the U.S. General Services Administration leased the Old Post Office for 140 years to The Trump Organization. The Trump Organization said it would develop the property into a luxury hotel to be named Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C.

A decrepit old federal building will be converted to a luxury Trump hotel if Donald can withdraw his suit against the Mexican chef who pulled out of the deal because of Trump's attacks on Mexicans.
Meanwhile, the interests of the concrete Mafia from New York City, controlled by Donald's friends in the Genovese crime family, the most powerful Mafia group in the city, and the second largest family, the Gambinos can be smoothly introduced into the midst of the build, build, and build more government buildings in D.C. - 9/14/16, 11:07 PM
