Who is this guy Orwell?

As the author of this piece in today's American Thinker points out, most people today (especially Millennials) have not studied George Orwell's 1984 in school (probably because the curriculum is more devoted to books like Heather Has Two Mommies).

And yet Orwell is being invoked now by the Left to characterize the Trump administration and its supporters, calling Kellyanne Conway's term "alternative facts" an example of Orwellian Newspeak (she probably should have used the term "the rest of the story"). But it is the relentless (and increasingly desperate) propaganda from the Left that is giving us the best examples of Newspeak (what is "political correctness" but Newspeak?), doublethink, the mutability of the past and, above all, the concept that "Ignorance is Strength".

[I recommend that you read this piece at the original AT site, because it's chock full of links illustrating most of its references, and those links will probably be inoperative in this e-mail.]

After eight years of the mumbo, jumbo boolchit we've listened too, they have no beef with "alternative facts". None of them would've known the truth if it hit them in the mug.

That AT piece I recommended sort of dovetails with a WND piece by Jack Cashill: http://www.wnd.com/2017/02/sorry-libs-orwell-was-talking-about-you/
