This Just In...

I've always viewed BO as a useful idiot, but one hated by the despicables.  So good on him.

RE: FOX NEWS;   Remember that family restaurant you really loved?  Great food.  Reasonable prices.  Then the owner died and the kids promptly ran it into the ground?

That restaurant and you don't have to go that far. Recall, "The Bronfmans: The Rise and Fall of the House of Seagram."

Most of us can probably think of examples we’ve seen firsthand. We can cite a case we know of personally in which a son inherited a small business his father had built over many years by the sweat of his brow. It was a small, storefront shop that served its community, had a great following, and after the struggles of becoming established had become a rather lucrative business for an essentially one-man operation in which the operator didn’t really even have to work all that hard.

And the father had taught his son essentially everything he needed to know about how to perform the service and run the business, so there was no reason, once the son inherited the business, for anything to change much.

Except that customers now found themselves occasionally puzzled and inconvenienced when work was not ready when promised, or when the shop failed to keep its posted hours, or when they were kept waiting at the counter while the proprietor was nowhere in sight.

Well, it turned out that while customers were waiting at the counter the son was in the back room, essentially putting the business up his fucking nose!

One exception to that rule, which I have seldom seen broken, would be Milano's of Weslaco, Texas. 3rd Gen now and the food and service are still spot on.

I know of a huge & very profitable family business that requires the next generation:
1. Graduate from college
2. Get hired by another business
3. Earn a promotion.

You don't do that, you don't work there.
They have been at it since 1923.
