I've stated here before that I'm a long time admireer of Jeff Sessions.

His testimomy today was troubling to say the least. He has had a stellar
carrer up to this point, but it is now evident that it's time to ride off
into the sunset. I would prefer to not see him fired but it may have come
to that point.

Extremley disappointed.

Sessions may be squirming because by giving one answer to Members of Congress he would be confirming an investigation, which he's not allowed to do. This from LifeZette:

"Joseph diGenova, a former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia under then-President Ronald Reagan, told “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News that the standard criminal division of the U.S. Department of Justice can look into possible corruption committed by Democrat Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

DiGenova said the special counsel doesn't need to be triggered to look into the Clintons, and he mocked the idea that one was created to investigate President Donald Trump for ties to Russians."

He also attacked the idea of the special counsel who is already there: "There's no factual predicate for Robert Mueller," said diGenova, speaking of the special counsel looking into alleged Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election. "There's been no crime ever announced that he is investigating."
