Hey there, Hi There, Ho There  ...

Top Fundraiser for Jason Carter (D-GA) Wants Carbon Tax. Calls Opponents to the Idea “Nutcases”.
Jason Carter is the Democrats’ nominee for Governor of Georgia. His top fundraiser flew to Aspen, CO on Tuesday to champion a carbon tax to fight “global warming.”

Carter’s fundraiser also called those who oppose destroying the economy to deal with global warming “nutcases.” Do not be surprised. Jason Carter’s top fundraiser also recently called Hamas a legitimate political actor and accused Israel of war crimes.  . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

Jason, of course,  is Jummy's grandson.  To date, the only known cure for the familial insanity gene is to leave newborn spawn on a cold mountain top and let the wolves eat them.  The Carters have so far refused to do the right thing.  What?  You think I'm kidding?

portrayal of stupid things, but Plowman is real.

It’s the terminus point of modern feminism: make the deeply personal very publicly political, and get someone else to pay for it! If one man is keeping you in the style to which you’re accustomed, you’re a kept woman – perhaps even [shudder] a stay-at-home mom. But if your sugar is funneled from thousands of hapless tax payers through a legion of faceless bureaucrats, you’re  a tower of feminist self-determination.  Fight the power, sisters! Demand government tampons!

Last week, Jessica Valenti (Feministing founder, NARAL director and Planned Parenthood heroine) asked via Twitter, “Anyone know a country where tampons are free or somehow subsidized?” The question sparked an obnoxious social media backlash, which, in turn, sparked an obnoxious retort by Valenti in her column for The Guardian: “The case for free tampons.” The liberal media, from Cosmo to TIME, followed suit with the “compelling argument” and “great idea.”

“The high cost of a product that half the population needs multiple times a day, every month for approximately 30 years,” Valenti began in her August 11 piece, “is simply, well, bullshit.”

But cost was hardly the crux of Valenti’s argument. “This is less an issue of costliness than it is of principle,” she later admitted, because “menstrual care is health care.” She explained how, like birth control, “the idea of women even getting small tax breaks for menstrual products provokes incredulousness” not only because “people lack an incredible amount of empathy” but also “because it has something to do with vaginas.” (Ooh, the “V-word.” Bet Valenti felt a transgressive thrill just writing it!)

To back up her claims, Valenti cited how The United Nations and  .... [Need More?]

Liberals Urge Southern Secession
Call Southern Conservatives "neo-Confederates"

The nation would be better off if Southern states seceded from the union, and Republicans pushing for right-to-work, voter ID laws and other reforms are “neo-Confederates” according to a candid exchange between a major Democratic donor and liberal organizers on Gamechanger Salon.

The forum, a secretive and exclusive digital gathering of over 1,000 leftwing leaders, activists and journalists, was recently made public by Media Trackers, and email exchanges between members offer fascinating insights into the group’s inner deliberations.

“For more than 100 years, the South has been dumbing down national politics, tilting the country in a conservative direction, supporting militarism, all while demanding huge financial subsidies from blue states. It would be 100% fine with me if the South was a separate nation, pursuing its own priorities and destiny. And if people like you succeed in blunting the conservatism of the South, more power to you.”
Gamechanger Salon participant Jon Stahl sparked a conversation last October about the role of the South in American politics when he posted a link to Michael Lind’s piece for Salon magazine entitled The South is Holding America Hostage. “I thought this was an impressive (if tough) piece of big-picture political strategy and prescription,” Stahl explained before remarking, “Would be interested to hear others’ opinions of whether he is on target or way off…and if so what that might imply.”

First to respond was Guy Saperstein, a wealthy California mega-donor to Democratic candidates and leftwing causes. “In the alternative, could we just let the South secede?” the part owner of the Oakland Athletics baseball team queried.

He was serious.

“My comment was not made in jest at all,” Saperstein wrote in a follow-up explanation. He expanded on his theory:

“For more than 100 years, the South has been dumbing down national politics, tilting the country in a conservative direction, supporting militarism, all while demanding huge financial subsidies from blue states. It would be 100% fine with me if the South was a separate nation, pursuing its own priorities and destiny. And if people like you succeed in blunting the conservatism of the South, more power to you.”

Saperstein is not a fringe activist hiding out on the far reaches of the left. He’s a well-heeled funder of Democratic campaigns, a former president of the Sierra Club Foundation, and founder of The Patriotic Millionaires, a group of self-conscious millionaires begging the government to raise their taxes.

"For more than 100 years dumbing down national politics, tilting the country in a conservative direction, supporting militarism, all while demanding huge financial subsidies from blue states!"  And, OMFG! We want people to show ID before they vote?  OMFG!  We really are the debil.

In all seriousness though, at this point the gulf between Liberals and us Old School Americans is so wide as to be uncrossable.  There is no unobtainium that will change things.  But, it is they who have violated their vows, and so it is they who must leave the house in this divorce.  We will be the USA, and they can be whatever the hell they want.  Eventually they will fall apart amidst rampant crime and squalor, and there will come a D-Day, and a new beginning under old rules.

Just two weeks after the Obama administration asked Congress to repeal the Iraq war authorization, the White House is failing to adequately explain to lawmakers the legal justification and concrete objectives for its airstrikes against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS)

Scared Democrats Get Some Advice (not that the needed it)

Whether the Democrats running in those districts can survive what party strategists acknowledge is a deteriorating national political environment will largely hinge on how well they can appeal to more conservative voters.

“It’s a different kind of electorate,” said Ben Tulchin, a San Francisco-based Democratic pollster. “If you’re running in a competitive district as a Democrat in a nonpresidential year, you want to [lie like a sumbitch].”

RED STATE DONKS RUN FROM GUN GRAB VOTES

Red state Democrats who voted for the failed Senate gun control bill in April 2013 have been scrambling lately to focus their campaigns on anything but guns and gun control. With November closing in, they've even asked Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly to stay out of their states to avoid a shift in focus to guns or gun control.

But the reality is that Senators Mark Udall (D-CO), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Kay Hagan (D-NC), and Al Franken (D-MN) all voted for the Manchin-Toomey gun control bill in 2013--a bill that would have ended the private gun sales which free people have enjoyed in this country for nearly 220 years. It would have implemented an expansion of background checks from retail sales to private and forced every would-be gun owner to pass the same background checks Elliot Rodger (Santa Barbara), Ivan Lopez (Ft. Hood 2014), Karl Halverson Pierson (Arapahoe High School), Aaron Alexis (DC Navy Yard), James Holmes (Aurora theater), and Nidal Hasan (Ft. Hood 2009) passed, to name a few.

Grand Canyon National Park officials are investigating a YouTube video posted over the weekend that appears to show a man luring a squirrel to the edge of a cliff and kicking it into the canyon below.

The video -- which was quickly taken down and then republished by other users -- shows two French-speaking men wearing boxer shorts and cowboy hats, laughing as they lead the animal to the edge of the canyon. One of the men puts on a shoe and kicks the animal, launching it off the cliff.

An EXTREMELY GRAPHIC  iteration of the video is above.

Officials confirmed with AZCentral that they're investigating the incident. It's not yet clear who the men are, whether they'll face charges, or even if the video is real. The only thing park officials know for certain is where the video was shot.

"The rangers do believe it is at Grand Canyon in the national park," Grand Canyon National Park spokeswoman Kirby-Lynn Shedlowski told the news site. "It is under investigation. We are working with YouTube to see if we can get any additional information."

Samurai AG TFV (Ret) sent this story, with a "I didn't know you'd been to the Grand Canyon" tag.  Click-Click.  Perhaps my previous post about ISIS beheading little girls in Iraq will put this in proper perspective. The hyperbole here is suffocating. I mean, we have tens of thousands of disease ridden illegals streaming across our border,  and Park Rangers are actually investigating this as a crime?  JFC!

Excerpt:

I don’t know the name of this poor man who has lost his wife and daughter.  But I have seen pictures that first made my physically ill, and then made me wish I had my own personal B-52.  Yes, Mr. President, this is the work of those you keep saying follow a religion of peace.  This is the result of you preferring to get additional fundraising done rather than do the responsible thing and protect those from whom our government had taken all the police and military protections that we Americans take completely for granted.  A cheery “Well, we’re finished here, so you’re all on your own now.  Good luck!” is hardly what a responsible leader would say, yet that was effectively what you did.

A website called Catholic.org was brought to my attention by someone I correspond with in South Africa.  It has two photos of the gentleman I’ve described, and of his daughter.  Take a good look at him, Mr. President.  Take a good look at his daughter, and imagine that it could have been Sasha or Malia.  Then, Mr. President, look in the mirror and try to tell yourself that it’s not your fault for opening the cage that might have controlled these animals.

I read this (via skoonj) at 10:30 AM; put my pen down and went for a long walk. The Catholic.org website has pictures of little girls who were beheaded by ISIS for being Christian.  And yes, Obama, either by design, or through utter incompetence, is directly responsible for all of this.  My lawyer says I must stop now.

Operation Wetback

This is something that should be of great interest for you to pass around. I didn't know of this until it was pointed out to me.

  • During the great depression, Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that  desperately needed work.
  • Harry Truman deported over two million illegal aliens after WWII to create jobs for returning veterans.
  • In 1954 Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexicans. The program was called Operation Wetback. It was done so WWII and Korean War veterans would have a better chance at jobs. It took two years, but they deported them!
Now, if they could deport the illegal aliens back then, they could surely do it today. If you have doubts about the veracity of this information, and confirm it for yourself.

Why, you might ask, can't they do this today?Actually the answer is quite simple. Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower were men of honor, not self-serving politicians looking for votes!

Reminder: Don't forget to pay your taxes - 12 to 20 million illegal aliens – are depending on it.

The Un-Midas Touch

Everything that Barack Obama touches seems to turn to dross. Think of it for a minute. He inherited a quiet Iraq (no American combat deaths at all in December 2009)....

Everything that Barack Obama touches seems to turn to dross. Think of it for a minute. He inherited a quiet Iraq (no American combat deaths at all in December 2009). Joe Biden bragged of the calm that it would be the administration’s “greatest achievement.” But by pulling out all U.S. peacekeepers — mostly for a 2012 reelection talking point — Obama ensured an ISIS wasteland. He put his promised eye on Afghanistan at last, and we have lost more soldiers there than during the Bush administration and a Taliban victory seems likely after more than a decade of lost American blood and treasure. The message seems to be that it is better for Obama to have his eye off something than on it.

Remember those threats to Syria? After the U.S. threatened and backed off, the violence only escalated and spilled into Iraq.

That is the real Obama legacy: there are no politics any more, just an endless class war between patriotic progressives and counter-revolutionary clingers.
Libya was no paradise under Gadhafi, but it is now Mogadishu on the Mediterranean. Not even the president’s supporters believe that he told the truth about Benghazi. Reset with Russia green-lighted Putin, as he sized up Barack Obama as a lamb waiting to be eaten. The Bowe Bergdahl-for-five-terrorists swap (likely illegal) is not headline news only because dozens of scandals since have eclipsed it, and the likely deserter is apparently still kept incommunicado, lest he speak in the fashion of his father at the earlier White House press conference. I don’t think Bergdahl is a model for future negotiations with the Taliban.

Israel? We never have been more estranged from the Jewish state. Open mic outbursts against Netanyahu define our true policies. The terrorist state run by Hamas is now a partner for peace – tunnels, missiles, syringes, handcuffs and all. Did outreach to Hamas lessen or spike violence?

Did the “special relationship” with the Islamist Recep Erdogan lead to regional calm, and does it still exist?

The war on terror? Obama has derided most anti-terrorism protocols, even as he kept some Bush-Cheney policies — to the incoherent point that no one has any idea what the U.S. is doing. Jihad a personal odyssey? Muslim Brotherhood largely secular? Major Hasan’s murdering mere workplace violence? Outreach to Islam NASA’s primary mission? Remember overseas contingency operations and man-caused disasters? In the Obama war on terror, waterboarding three architects of 9/11 is our “folks” torturing their “folks”; but judge/jury/executioner drone strikes that blow up 2,000-plus suspected (not confessed) terrorists — and anyone in the general vicinity when the missile hits — are far more moral. Out of sight, out of mind.

When CIA Director John Brennan speaks, we all assume he is not telling the truth, as in the past. Whatever the DC dictate is at the present, Brennan makes the necessary immoral adjustments.

Past cabinet heads? No one knows exactly the circumstances under which Lisa Jackson, Hilda Solis — and even David Petraeus — left their offices.

Iran and the bomb? Look to red lines in Syria for an example of how our Iranian threats will work out. One cannot distinguish parody from Obama’s Iranian policy. We worried more about sanctions hurting Iranians than forcing them to comply with non-proliferation promises.

The world sort of likes the new reduced profile of the U.S. This is especially true of Russia, China, and Iran, as they fill the regional voids. The weaker we become, the more likely Obama is popular overseas, and the more likely the Left applauds his new global likability.

In the Obama view, millions do not like Israel, Britain, or any pro-American Western democracy, and so applaud his new corrections.

At home? Obama has wrecked our healthcare system. Every promise about the Affordable Care Act proved an outright lie. No one can define Obamacare or explain how it is supposed to work. In fact, no one really even tries any more.

The budget? Obama’s legacy is ... (Victor Davis Hanson cont)

A quick glance at today's stuff reveals lots of similar thinking.  And Obama's approval rating is 40%?  4 in 10 people approve of what this lout has accomplished?  Stab me in the freaking liver.

The Gay Nazi Movement

“
“Anti-LGBT attitudes are terrible for people in all sorts of communities. They linger and oppress, and we need to stamp them out, ruthlessly,” tweeted Josh Barro, a writer for the New York Times. In subsequent tweets he made clear that those who believe in traditional marriage are not worthy of respect or civility and, most alarmingly, that the government has the power to redefine words such as marriage.

In fact, enormous energy is being expended by the left in America to make Christianity and Christians unacceptable. A New York Times writer wants to stamp out those views “ruthlessly.”
In Houston, Texas, ironies upon ironies abound in an anonymous group publishing the names and addresses of citizens opposed to a gay rights measure. This also happened during the Proposition 8 campaign in California. People who gave money to support traditional marriage had their employers and addresses exposed, and then became subject to harassment.

In New Jersey, a church had its tax-exempt status revoked on property on which it refused to allow a gay marriage. In Colorado, New Mexico and Oregon the nation has seen photographers, florists and bakers compelled against their will to provide goods and services to gay marriages. The gay couples could have gone elsewhere, but instead decided to target these small businesses for ruin because of their religious beliefs.

President Obama and many Democrats no longer talk about “freedom of religion.” Instead, they talk about “freedom of worship.” One is no longer allowed to live and practice one’s religion in the public square. They are only permitted to worship from 11 to noon on a Sunday.

At the liberal web publication Slate, a writer whose job is to advocate for LGBT issues treated with seriousness a study that purports to show religious children are more likely to believe in fantasies than secular children because they might believe crazy things such as a story about a crucified man who rose again from the dead. Interestingly, every example given was a story from the Bible, not the Koran or books of other religions.

In fact, enormous energy is being expended by the left in America to make Christianity and Christians unacceptable. A New York Times writer wants to stamp out those views “ruthlessly.” He describes those with orthodox Christian views on marriage as unworthy of civility. Anonymous groups expose the home addresses of mostly Christians and subject them to harassment. This is not happening to orthodox Jews or Muslims, but to Christians.

It raises a serious question Americans must confront — are gay rights and Christianity compatible? The answer appears to be no. As gay rights activists use the tactics of Bull Connor to push for what they declare civil rights, they are targeting churches, religiously affiliated groups and Christian businesses for harassment and lawsuits. Or in this case,  a vendetta by said racketeers. You don't have to be all that smart to see how this will end.  If they are successful, Islam will inevitably fill the crater left by Christianity.  Ahem.

FAT CHANCE

Unity With The Lesser of Two Evils

                                 by Jen Kuznicki
“

Conservatives know that there are dark days ahead for the country and the world while America is weakened by such men. Some may vote for the lesser of two evils and some won’t, but unity with a party that crosses the line of how they treat their own base, giving preferential treatment to who is supposedly their enemy, just ain’t gonna happen.

I left the Michigan Republican Party in early spring when their new tack was to nationally embarrass any social conservative left in the party.  I left suddenly embarrassed to be seen with them.
So, now is the grand time of the election year where the calls for unity fill the email boxes and stump speeches, and I am having a difficult time figuring out how the Republican Party has any integrity at all to come and beg for my, and anyone else’s, vote.

I’m mindful that the Democrat Party is really, really awful.  They try to get elected by saying their Republican opponent will take away the poor’s welfare and they’re a bunch of racist bigots.  But then, the Barbours in Mississippi on behalf of Thad Cochran said the same thing about the conservative running against them in the primary, so I guess I’m confused, how can I say the Democrats are really awful, and not our own liberal leadership?

Not many mention that they treated human beings as if they are nothing more than slaves of the government.  They said, vote for Thad Cochran, because McDaniel will take away your food stamps and Medicaid, meaning, the Republican who will keep you from breaking out of welfare is the only type of Republican suitable for you.  Thad wants you to stay in your place, and your place is staying on the government dole, since you are unable to do better.

That is not what a conservative thinks.

“They said, vote for Thad Cochran, because McDaniel will take away your food stamps and Medicaid, meaning, the Republican who will keep you from breaking out of welfare is the only type of Republican suitable for you. Thad wants you to stay in your place, and your place is staying on the government dole, since you are unable to do better.”
A conservative believes that, given the chance at bettering themselves, a person will, as long as it is not easier to choose to let others do it for you.  That means, if welfare pays more than work, you can’t expect more people to choose work.
I want nothing to do with a party that tells people that their lot in life is to stay a victim of government.  Welfare should be a hand up when times are impossible, but it should not be a way of life as Thad Cochran’s ads admitted.

I went to a nearby tea party meeting last week, and sparred verbally with my State Representative.  He and a paid staffer to my Congressman argued that the tea party should unite with the Republican Party, because we need to win in November.  But then, when they say win, they mean the election, not the fight.

Of the things we discussed, my State Representative had been called to the carpet for voting for an increase in the minimum wage.  Members of the tea party and conservatives like me had scorched him and others for doing so.  But he said, “but, did you know what the Democrats wanted?”  The Democrats, predictably, wanted a higher minimum wage than the Republican-dominated House and Senate gave them, and that is why we can’t all get along. The American Left: Friends of Our Country’s Enemies

“In his book Antisemitism and the American Far Left, historian Stephen H. Norwood ends his tome by noting that since the 1960s, the American far left has echoed both extremist Palestinian propaganda as well as the old Communist anti-Zionist positions of the 1920s and ’30s, demonizing Zionism and “condemning Israel with increasing fervor…and calling for its destruction.” The Left think of themselves as secular democrats, while in reality they work to empower the forces of radical Islam that “would replace Israel with an Arab dictatorship unwilling to extend rights to minorities and women.”

The American Left used to be patriotic. In its heyday, Eugene V. Debs never attacked America, and the socialist vision he advocated was in his eyes a way to realize the promise of America. As for the American Communist Party, in reality the tool of Stalin’s USSR, it pretended in the 1940s to be pro-American, and its chairman, Earl Browder, coined the slogan “Communism is 20th century Americanism.” This pretense came to an end during the Cold War, when the Left supported the Soviet bloc and all of its policies, and argued that America was in the process of becoming a nascent fascist state.

The remnants of the ’60s New Left identified with America’s new enemies, especially North Vietnam, Communist Cuba, the PLO, and, in the ’80s, Sandinista Nicaragua. After 9/11, many of its adherents took the position that the United States had the terror attack coming to it, since the perpetrators had taken 3000 lives in protest against America’s imperial ambitions and control.

The left-wing of the Democratic Party is not happy. Baker interviewed Phyllis Bennis, who works at the far-left Institute for Policy Studies (not, as Baker describes it,“a research organization for peace activists”). The NYT does not let its readers know that Bennis herself is a person who believes that Israel’s very creation was illegitimate, and who supports “the right of return” and has previously criticized moves taken by Israel against Hamas. As for the IPS, as one can find at Discover the Networks, during the Cold War it was a major group disseminating Soviet disinformation and working to push the United States to the far left.
This led Michael Walzer, the social-democratic intellectual, to pen an article called “Can There Be a Decent Left?” Walzer courageously took on many of those on his side of the spectrum, hitting them for accepting the “blame America first” doctrine to explain foreign policy defeats; for not criticizing any peoples or nations in the Third World; for believing in what he called “rag-tag Marxism”; for failing to oppose dangerous jihadists and Islamist states; and for refusing to blame anyone else for the world’s wrong except the United States.

I wonder what Walzer would write today if he examined his article anew. If one looks around at the Left’s response to Hamas’ actions in Gaza and its attacks on Israel, and its view of Islamist fascism in countries like Iran, Syria and among the ISIS forces seeking to take over Iraq, it is clearer than ever that the Left has one function — to support the enemies of democracy. Operating in the United States, Britain and France, the Western Left takes the opportunity to speak freely in the democracies in which they live, to openly support and express their solidarity with democracy’s most fervent enemies.

Some would question why this Left, perhaps numerically small in terms of the entire population of the Western nations, is so important. Aren’t they really marginal? The answer is that in the United States, as well as in Great Britain, the positions of the far left have now become mainstream, and influence those in political power. So it is with the Democratic Party.

On these questions, the answer of the left-liberal wing of the Democratic Party, and the even further far left-wing base, makes the Democrats as an entire group unable to take any steps that endanger their electoral chances, unless the party’s leaders continually kowtow to the leftist base. They fear that if they took tough interventionist positions that would offend them, it might lead the Left to opt out of voting in the coming November elections, as well as not rallying behind whomever the Democrats pick as their candidate for the 2016 presidential race. There are, of course, some exceptions. Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey is one Democrat who has continually called for tough measures against Iran, much to the consternation of others in his own party.

[PJ MEDIA CONT]

Recent polls already have shown that most Democrats have already turned against Israel, and only 31 percent think Israel’s war with Hamas is justified.  Hence the Democrats fear not going along with the Left. Unless they appease the far left in their own ranks, previously mainstream Democrats will fear electoral defeat, and hence many will respond positively to far left appeals and protests. The Left’s marginality will not matter — what they think and call for has entered the mainstream.

Proverbs 26:11 and Mitt Romney

Romney?

“
As the Republican Party searches for a way to win back the White House after Barack Obama leaves the stage, could the nation be turning towards Mitt Romney? Recalling one of Mr Romney's biggest blunders during his doomed 2012 presidential bid – questioning whether or not London was capable of hosting the Olympic Games – this might sound absurd. But there are surprisingly good reasons why a Romney return might not be all that crazy.

Blah-Blah-Blah

Ride to the rescue?   From what?

It's the Democrat Party on the brink their greatest political defeat since 1980.  A few weeks ago I noted a similar story on Drudge, about maybe reconsidering Romney.  Aha!  There we have it.  Romney to rescue the GOP from GOP conservatives  (aka teapartiers), who threaten their cozy relationship with the  Democrat Party.  I can imagine the Telegraph's man in Washingon drinking Scotch with a GOP lobbiest and
—Voila!—this pap.  There will be more, because the GOP are bankrupt when it comes to people with stiff backs. So, here's where I stand.

I have in the past threatened not to vote in any presidential election where (1)Bob Dole, then (2)John McCain, and then (3) Mitt Romney headed the GOP ticket.  I might actually have stuck by my guns in McCain's case had Sarah Palin not emerged as his mate.  But no.  In every case, as prophesied in Proverbs 26:11,  I ate my vomit after rationalizing that, bad as they were, Clinton and Obama were downright deadly.

This time, I have been to the cave and met the varmint.  There are no half measures that will begin to undo what Obama hath wreaked.  I'm looking for someone who promises (by past performance) to clean house.  At the moment only Sarah Palin and John Bolton come to mind as worthy.  We'll see. And it's not that Romney is all that bad (on paper).  It's that him getting the GOP nod means the GOP have again prevailed, and this GOP are little more than ushers for the DNC devil.

Say Amen.
