Arizona Cracking Down on Racism in Mexican-American Studies Classes

At issue, the teaching of aggressive racism in the classroom. The controversial class was Mexican-American Studies, which taught pupils to feel resentment toward whites and that Arizona belongs to Mexico. The conflicted class was not banned, largely due to student uprising, but now the Arizona government is cracking down on the school district, saying that the class must come into compliance with state laws to avoid discrimination and divisiveness:  [Town Hall]

Now, this is such a cut and dry case that nobody, save for the Asshat Illegal Mexican Lobby (AKA the Democrat Party and Mexico) could possible complain, right?  Let's see who hollers.   Then deport them.

Waivers Shmavers ...

Waivers Shmavers

WYSIWYG

The Obamissariat's Friday document dump contained the final list of Obamacare waivers.  There will continue to be waivers granted, but the Direktor will no longer name them.  This in accordance with the Administration's  Most Open Government Ever policy.

"Friday marks the last time HHS will have to update the total number of waivers, putting to rest a recurring political firestorm."

 Here's what else we've learned.
  • Obamacare is so flexible that members of Congress are exempt. Congress has a waiver.
  • All told, 1,231 companies applied for and received waivers from the law’s restrictions on annual benefit caps
  • The 96 denied waivers were to companies that supported the GOP and or said something bad about the Obamacare.
  • When added together, the healthcare waivers excuse about 4 million people, or about 3 percent of the population, from having to participate, HHS said.
  • Labor unions representing 543,812 workers received waivers
  • Private employers with a total of 69,813 employees, many of whom work for small businesses, were granted waivers.”
Waivers Shmavers
  • All waivers expire in 2014. Too late then, schmucks.
In fairness. an Administration supporter explains their  position.

You hate filled republicans who think this is going to get repealed are NUTS!!! Democrats are making huge strides all across the nation in local elections, and more Americans than ever are demanding ECONOMIC JUSTICE, HEALTHCARE JUSTICE, and OVERALL FAIRNESS in our society. Its time for a re-balancing of our nation's wealth, even if the top 1%, rich republican elitists don't think so.

The top tax rate needs to be taken to 60% for those getting anything more than $100k (which is DOUBLE what the average family of 4 in America gets)…with the help of global "occupy" movements, us Democrats will re-take the house in 2012, and push through REAL reform!!!BY TaxtheRich! on 01/06/2012 at 17:12

So there's that.

OBAMA UNABLE TO REGISTER FOR STATE PRIMARY
ALABAMA REVIEWS HIS ELIGIBILITY TO BE A CANDIDATE FOR THE PRESIDENCY

An Alabama Court has announced that it will hear arguments as to whether Barack Hussein Obama II is in fact eligible to appear on the State Presidential Primary Ballot.

Several Alabama citizens have filed a lawsuit within the Alabama Circuit Court to "prevent certification of President Barack Obama for 2012 Alabama ballot access pending final hearing based on factual evidentiary hearings."

The deadline for any candidate to register to appear on the Alabama Presidential Primary ballot is just days away, but by agreeing to hear the case, the Alabama Courts have effectively stalled any efforts by the Democratic Party to place Obama on the ballot. [Full]

Siamese twins walk into a bar in Canada and park themselves on a bar stool.

One of them says to the bartender, "Don't mind us; we're joined at the hip. I'm John, he's Jim. Two Molson Canadian beers, draft please."

The bartender, feeling slightly awkward, tries to make polite conversation while pouring the beers. "Been on holiday yet, lads?"

"Off to England next month," says John. "We go to England every year, rent a car and drive for miles. Don't we, Jim?" Jim agrees.

"Ah, England!" says the bartender. "Wonderful country... the history, the
beer, the culture..."

"Nah, we don't like that British crap," says John. "Hamburgers and Molson's beer, that's us, eh Jim? And we can't stand the English - they're so arrogant and rude."

"So why keep going to England?" asks the bartender.

"It's the only chance Jim gets to drive."

18-year-old 18-year-old Hiroyuki Joho was running across the Amtrak tracks to catch another train but didn't make it -- he was hit by an oncoming train going 70 mph and his body was torn apart by the force and flung onto a nearby passengers' waiting platform.

Gayane Zokhrabov

In Search of Shakespeare

Res Ipsa Loquitur

Given that most of you are avidly interested in politics, I will assume your love of history since the two are really inexorably entwined.  I watched  In Search of Shakespeare (PBS 2004) last night.  Rather, I watched the first of four one-hour episodes.  As a predicate to understanding the Shake, Michael Wood begins by examining the happenings 16th century England.

Elizabethan England was, says Wood, a police state, where paid informers no less through then East Germany's Stasi,  snitched on everyone. The records are still accessible, hand written on bolts of parchment. We learn in some great detail how Willy grew up, his schooling ( the school he attended is still in use), the books he read, and how his gammy and gampy were drawn and quartered by the Queen.  Here's the NetFlix (instant watch) link.  I'll watch the rest this coming week, and may or may not update this post.  You're welcome.

After the IRS, the EPA ...
An Idaho businessman and his wife are pleading with the U.S. Supreme Court to stop the federal government’s “bullying” over the family’s simple plan to build a three-bedroom home on a plot of ground they purchased in an existing subdivision in Idaho, plans for which they already have obtained all the legally necessary building permits.

The issue is that the
Environmental Protection Agency claims that the land – which is surrounded by existing homes on three adjacent lots, has no standing water, and has no streams or creeks on it – is “wetlands.”  [EPA Horror]
The EPA, boys and girls, is the only reason Richard Nixon deserved to be removed from office.  Reckless endangerment of the U.S.  Constitution (although Newt says The EPA Was Founded on Sound Ideas). Ahem.

So, Palestinian walks into a Deli

Sigh
It is written—

The Israelis and the Palestinians decided to come to a peace agreement and sat down to talk. Before the negotiations began, the Israeli representative asked if he could tell a short story from the Torah. The Palestinian representative gave no objection, so the Israeli began:
"One day while the Israelites were travelling the desert for 40 years, Moses and the other Israelites decided to go for a swim in a local river. It was very hot so they all took off their clothes to go for a dip. When he got out of the river, Moses was shocked to find that his clothes had been stolen. A little boy told him that he had seen the thief. It was a Palestinian

"Wait!" The Palestinian representative interrupted, "There were no Palestinians in the time of Moses. This story is preposterous!"

"Well now," Replied the Israeli representative, "Now that we've got that problem cleared up... may we begin with the negotiations?"
