Fiber Optic Internet

Done!

I had Verizon's FiOS (Fiber Optic) internet installed. I had their DSL, which was $29.95/mo since I am am a ''bundled'' Verizon customer. The cost for FiOS is the same price (34.95 for the common man). DSL can now be had for $14.95 month (bargain of the year). No charge for installation, btw, and the wireless router was free. Mother Superior just told me her networked computer is "blazing fast."

Holy crap Rodger. What kind of service are you using? My DSL download is slower than your upload.

Hm... I have comparable download speeds (4488 -- close enough), but my upload speed is WAY slower -- only 431. I wonder what the difference is.

I use Road Runner and my score is 917kbps. Until this post, I thought RR was really fast.

I have the $49.99 version and get ~14Mbps down and ~1.5Mbps up. It's worth every penny.

I cannot imagine 3 times my current speed. I mean, when movies start playing 1 second bofore I click on them, how much more speed can you use? Just amazing.

You must have RR lite (the less expensive version).
