Gregg wins a Starbucks Prize

This is soooooo Funny

Starbucks Contest: The Winner!

First, "Congratulations to Gregg Schlong, whose ‘Clash of the Titans’ story has been overwhelmingly selected by readers as the winner of the Starbucks contest. He’ll be getting a $500 gift certificate to Starbucks, with which he will be able to purchase as many large coffees as he desired. As as a commentor noted, his story of triumph is certain to be optioned into an uplifting Hollywood movie at nearly at time. (We’ll expect to be your date to the Golden Globes, Gregg.)"

The trouble with coffee bars:

There are two national chains -- Starbucks and Carribou.

Starbucks is very hippie-ish, and vaguely socialist in nature. Also, they like to require you to use psuedo-italian when ordering drinks.

Then there's Carribou... which is one of the so-called 'legitimate' enterprises of Al Qaeyda here in the US.

Terrorists or Communists... urk! I think I'll go with a third-party coffee (I found a half-decent one in Barnies... you'd have to cross state lines into Virginia to find it, I fear, Rodge -- the only one I know of is in the Dulles Town Center in Virginia -- but I could be wrong... their business cards list locations in Florida) when I want something specialty-coffee like, and all other times I'll just brew my own.
