Rodger, I'm a diabetic and I first was made aware of cinnamon from Steve. Lemme tell ya...IT WORKS. I was taking up to 50mg of insulin at night to get my level down to 100 in the morning. Now, after taking about 1200mg of cinnamon throughout the day, I only inject about 10-15mg of insulin at night.
Oh, yeah, and my cholesterol is down under 200 as well (over 300 when I was diagnosed).

It does work. I've been taking it for several years. An added benefit is that cinnamon is noted as a blood cleanser. An inexpensive supplement too.

Diabetic here too.

I use it on my plain oatmeal (w/equal) in the morning 3 times a week.

My blood sugar stays noticably lower all day.

Yup, use it on steel-cut (pinhead) oatmeal usually about 4-5 times a week for breakfast. I use the 'Alton Brown' method by cooking it overnight in a small crock-pot then adding a LOT of cinnamon, some Splenda and a small splash of pure vanilla extract.

Wait .. you are talking ground cinnamon right? Is that the same as the capsules I just bought?

Thanks once again for interesting health tips posted at your blog.

My cholesterol levels are fabulous, but my husband's are not. We are SO going to try these capsules. It appears others here (except ElJefe) are using cinnamon as a flavor enhancer also, but my hubby is much more likely to take the cap's along w/the other herbal stuff he relys on. joyce

Both, actually. Ground on my oatmeal and pills throughout the day.
