You might think that email killed the telegram but that is not the case.

It was the fax that killed telegrams as most telegrams were business related. Telegrams were long gone by the time email arrived.

I was a bicycle messenger for a year or so back in '69 in Colorado Springs. I'll never forget delivering black edged telegrams. Airforce and Army families made C.S. their home there.
I also delivered a Candygram by bike on Cristmas Eve!
There was snow and it was cold.
Taxies already had a large part of the business them but there was NO EMAIL.
