I'm terribly sorry to hear that Rodge. It hurts too much to lose a beloved dog. I wish dogs lived a thousand years.

I almost lost my 15yo mutt on New Years Eve - she had hurt her hip and couldnt stand or walk. The doc was able to reset it and she's been gradually getting stronger. But it was touch-and-go for a day and it was traumatic, to say the least.

I'm sorry for your loss, Roger.

Buda was a grand-dog, my son's, who lived with us a great deal when he travelled, including this last week. Breaks my heart.

That's the price we pay for having pets to love that don't live as long as we do, but then I remember all the good things the critters do for us and we do for them while they are here, and I feel better. I also know you will feel better in time and remember Buda's good days with you. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry...It's hard to lose a good dog...I just lost my dog last month...Took him to the vet, thinking he'd come home...and had to make a hard, hard choice...My heart goes out to ya, Rodger

I'd like to share something sierrahome posted when I lost my dog...

A Dog for Jesus
===============

I wish someone had given Jesus a dog
As loyal and loving as mine
To sleep by his manger and gaze in His eyes
And adore Him for being divine.

As our Lord grew to manhood, his faithful dog
Would have followed Him all through the day
While He preached to the crowds and made the sick well
And knelt in the garden to pray.

It is sad to remember that Christ went away
To face death alone and apart
With no tender dog following close behind
To comfort its Master’s heart.

And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn
How happy He would have been
As his dog kissed His hands and barked its delight
For the One who died for all men.

Well, the Lord has a dog now, I just sent him mine
The old pal so dear to me
And I smile through my tears on this first day alone
Knowing they’re in eternity.
