Dr. Frist
One thing that Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist has learned in his time in leadership is that if nothing else, Democrats are essentially legislative bullies. Always have been, always will be.

Yesterday's performance on the Senate floor was yet another example, as Sen. Russ Feingold, he of the McCain/Feingold campaign finance reform disaster, attempted to have the Senate take up censure legislation against President Bush for the overseas terrorism monitoring program.

And Frist let him.

Much to the amazement of his fellow Republicans, Frist called the Democrats on their bluff and they folded. In fact, Sen. Harry Reid looked downright ill ... "Censorious Democrats"

As I read through this article and got to the final paragraph, I couldn't help but notice how many times the word Democrat(s) appeared in close proximity. Ah, Ha! The only thing missing is a set of colon-eyes...and they are JUST that funny!!! D=:D

Okay. If I ever start a blog of my own, it will be called, "Ridin' the Late Freight." Seems like I'm always catching the caboose! :D (and not the kind w/that guy's tooshortshorts.) joyce

Doesn't Reid always look sick?

Read this post via PoliPundit, believing it worthy or C&S:

Results of Feingold Censure Resolution (S.Res. 398): Day 2

Democrat co-sponsors of Feingold Resolution: 0

al Qaeda communications intercepted by Feingold Resolution: 0

Terror attacks prevented by Feingold Resolution: 0

- U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, chairman of the Emerging Threats and Capabilities subcommittee and member of the Judiciary Committee said,

“I have taken a long and serious look at the legal authorities governing the NSA program that is the focus of this hearing. It is misleading to characterize the NSA program as some sort of broad-based ‘domestic’ spying on U.S. citizens. The NSA program is narrowly focused. It targets the international communications of al Qaeda in an effort to connect the dots and prevent another 9/11.”

I used to study martial arts as a child since I was bullied a bit at school. The first thing I learned in the "hard" martial arts was to deflect blows and meet the bullies attacks with my own, but being small that didn't work. What I learned in the "soft" martial arts (Aikido, Judo) was to use my enemies strength, attack, and momentum against him, I actually through one big bully to the floor.

That is what happened here, the Republicans finally learned to let the attack go through and throw Reid to the floor.

I just did a good post, in my opinion, about Frist using made up quotes on his website. I dislike politicians by nature, but lazy ones I outright hate.

Gunner, I think that post is a good example of the electronic lip service congress pays us in the hustings. Even better is your story about the boss calling an employee's home.! LOL
