Santa Cruz nincompoops

And this was one of the ''good guys?''

The most potentially devastating threat this nation faces are from kids, and young adults, who are the recent victims of  the leftist mind control administered by public schools over the past 30 years or so. Forget about the historical problems civilizations face over religious, ethnic, and language differences - we have a split over our own history, and what the promise of America is/was.  This morning a UC Santa Cruz student, Cody James, appeared  on Fox & Friends to discuss what happened when he tried to talk with recruiters at a school job fair.  He wasn't allowed to, because protestors stopped him.  Fearful for the recruiters safety  .. these are men and women who actually are in public service - fearful for their safety, school officials were compelled to secure them in separate quarters.

At one point E.D. Hill opined that UC student protestors were violating free speech -

Cody James: ''You feel that the protesters are against free speech?''

E.D. Hill: 'Well, yeah, the protestors - it sounds like what they did, and continue to do,  last year and this, is that if you want to do something or say something, or put out an idea that they disagree with, they not only don't want to hear you themselves, they don't want anybody else to be able to hear you.  that's why they had to put this group (military recruiters) in a totally different area (to protect them).''

Cody James (after making several anguished facial expressions) ''Uh ... ummm .... that's one way to look at it I suppose.''
No, Cody, it's the only way to look at it you over-schooled, but under educated nincompoop.  What you should have done is produce a 9mm, and told anyone who tried to stop you to say a prayer to Gaia.  That's exactly what Madison, Jefferson, and the other founders did in the same circumstance.  Sheesh. Yes, not all school shooting are a bad thing. Of course, I mean that in the good way. :D

Vouchers.

The stranglehold of the NEA is destroying this country.

I sort of disagree that the NEA is at fault. Parents who pay no attention at all to what their kids are learning, or who did nothing at all to stop it, are to blame. This is a full blown cancer now, and I cannot think of any solution except radical surgery. Problem is, with each passing day there are fewer people who recognize the problem.

Teenagers who are privately educated, teenagers who are home schooled, and teenagers who are politically and educationally engaged on a 1 on 1 basis, are overwhelmingly conservative in their day to day political and moral philosophy.

Go figure. Thank god my mom didn't leave my education to a former dopehead.

With a little luck the school will lose its $80 million in Fed funding. The Solomon Amendment universities to allow military recruiters on campuses “at least equal in quality and scope to the [degree of] access to campuses and to students that is provided to any other employer.” The law was enacted in 1996 but was not enforced by the Clinton Administration. No surprise there, but it is still on the books.

Rodger, Rodger, I lived in Santa Cruz for 4yrs (graduated high school there) and still have family there. The entire city is run by these kooks. They won't expand roads because that would "encourage people to drive more." They pulled out a huge bank of parking meters in front of the Boardwalk and made it a bike lane, to "encourage more bike riding." People have to pay parking fees if they want to park in the street in front of their homes...The place is whack and this is not different. And Josh is right. They place is filled w/dope smoking, commie teachers. Juice

the real concern is, this doesn't just happen in Northern California anymore, or the bastions of the ivy league...

When Johnny comes home with good grades, most parents are satisfied. We know how dumbed down standards are when 8th. graders are reading at a 3rd. grade level and yet are graduated. I'm afraid that they either don't have the time or inclination or are hapy with the type of "education" their children are getting.

School board elections are usually scheduled in the middle of no where. It allows the concentrated interest(the teachers) to elect the nutters that select text books. And plan the ciriculam.

By making vouchers availible, you give parents an option. Most parents can't afford both property taxes and another tuition. Every where vouchers are tried, there are never enough. This tells me that while most parents may be on auto-pilot, many still recognize that public schools aren't doing the job. I believe that they would make the effort to find a better school. Than they might go back on auto-pilot. As for the lefties that like the pap that public schools are teaching, well the world needs ditch diggers too.

The NEA is scared to death of vouchers and fight them tooth and nail every where. That has got to tell you something.

No wonder this kid reacted this way. He has no idea what free speech means. For 13-14 years, teachers have told him that onlt "accepted speech" was tolerable. Anything that wasn't "accepted speech" should be outlawed. He just doesn't know any better.
This country may be in deep trouble in a few years!

I disagree. A 9mm is a poor round. Real men use a .45, and if you can't handle a .45, at least use a .40. Don't bother with a round developed by europussies.
