Might have something to do with a "less than honorable" in the record for his illegal anti-war actions while still a reserve officer, and a purge of same as a favor to a Senator in the Carter years. I think the man's arrogance is a veneer over a deep insecurity, evidenced by his continuous need to embellish everything he does, even if what he actually did may have been noteworthy unembellished. Because of this, IMO he would not be merely incompetent, but a menace as a Chief Executive.

It occurred to me today that local politicians get their "limits" as to what they believe they can get away with by judging themselves against what D.C. politico's do.
I think we are in for a whole bunch of corrupt locals.... -
