Frank Caliendo

Of possible interest
I woke at 4 AM this morning, and couldn't get back to sleep, so I put on the headphones and flipped on XM radio.  Comedian Frank Caliendo was being interviewed by XM host Sonny Fox, and I learned stuff.  First, while I knew Caliendo's comedy from XM, I had no idea he was one of the MAD TV characters, since I've never watched  that show long enough to learn names.  Evidently he's made his bones with spot on impressions of John Madden, President Bush, among others.
''I find the contrast between Clinton and Bush striking.  Slick was just a flat liar.  He would look you straight in the eye and say (in perfect Slick voice0  ''I am not here ... .'') Bush on the other hand, if you stay with him (through the pauses and mispronunciation), will always give you the truth.  That's why I like him.''
That's a paraphrase of course, but 100% in it's representation.  He then said he thought this would be his last year on MAD TV.  He said ''the show (writers & cast) are liberal, and have fallen into doing routines for the politics, and not because they're funny.''   No Pulitzer for you Caliendo.

He's pretty funny. Never heard of him, I'll keep my eyes peeled for him to show up at the local comedy club.

I've been a fan of his for a long time, have some of his CDs, almost got to go watch him live. But, seeings how he was a cast member of Mad TV, I always had him fitted as a liberal.
