Okay, Rep. John Murtha served in the Marines. What that gets him is his country's gratitude, along with the expectation that he maintain a Marine's sense of honor and discipline for the rest of his life. Not all do, and that includes Murtha, whose lies and larcenies are well documented. A good man, with Murtha's political clout, after being informed of a possible war crime in Iraq, would have gone to the Commandant of Marines, or the Sec/Navy with a heavy heart, and confronted him with the charges. Expectations for a full inquiry and report are understood. If Murtha is, however, a Democrat intent on impeaching his own nation's war effort, because he disagrees with it - most likely because it's politically expedient to do so - then he will campaign with it. That's the course this old man has taken. If John Murtha was my own grandpa, I'd slip him an aortal air bubble with his breakfast tea.
