Let's talk about the Ann and Hillary  mud wrestle.  For those reading this in 2072 here's the backdrop.  In a recently published book, Ann Coulter ''calls a politically active group of New Jersey 9/11 widows 'harpies' and 'The Witches of East Brunswick,' who are 'enjoying"' being in the spotlight. [NYPOST]. They campaigned for John Kerry and  joined leftists who blame America for 9/11 (but  not fanatical Muslims; not the Clinton's, who were the ones ... whoops, I digress).  So, Hillary calls Ann Coulter a rotten bitch who hurts innocent women, and Coulter says, Oh yeah?  WTF were you while your husband was raping Juanita Broaddrick and groping Kathleen Willey at the moment her husband was committing suicide?  Ouch. The general reaction from Republican pols, who are ever  reluctant to call a spade a spade, may be summarized by New York Governor Pataki's: [Ann Coulter is] "at best insensitive and at worst really insensitive" to the families of the victims. Maybe, but spare me the pieties where the party of hatred and hypocrites is involved.  Democrats revel in victimhood; it's at the crux of their philosophy.  Just off the top of my head: 1992 Democratic Convention, Elizabeth Glazer: '' Exactly four years ago my daughter died of AIDS. She did not survive the Reagan Administration. '' 1996 Democratic Convention, Christopher Reeve: '' ...over the last few years we have heard a lot about something called 'family values.' ... I have struggled to figure out what that means .... it means ... '' you bastard Republicans; I want stem cells NOW dammit, or my death is on you. Bill Clinton uses the Oklahoma City tragedy to impose stricter gun controls (WTF?) Carolyn McCarthy: Husband executed, son severely injured by Colin Ferguson in the Long Island Rail Road shooting that took 5 other lives and left 18 other wounded.  She leveraged her grief into a congressional seat by blaming gun laws bought by the NRA for those deaths. The bizarre (and illegal) election of Missouri Gov. Mel Carnahan to the US Senate after his death in a plane crash.  Democrats promised to appoint the widow Carnahan to the seat if her late husband won Thanks to a St. Louis judge, and former Gephardt aide,  who (also illegally) ordered polls in Black precincts to stay open until after midnight, the corpse squeaked by. Sen. Paul Wellstone's 1992 funeral which  Democrats used to lambaste (and boo) Republicans. Cindy Freaking Sheehan! These folks, all of them, did not just espouse a pet cause, they used victimhood to attack political opponents.  What would you call it?  Coulter is right about how this group have used their widowhood to advance a partisan political ideology, and she is right to recognize that a whole lot of people are fed up with it.  I would bet everything you have on this:  If Republican candidates let Ann Coulter write their speeches, there would be about 50 Democrats in congress today.   That's because they are pussies, and she isn't.
