Man, am I glad I left Maryland...
There aren't many Republican candidates in Maryland worthy of the name (I recall having to vote for the Democrat several times because the only Republican I could vote for was someone the Republican Party was disavowing -- Fisker, I believe the name was -- because he was a lunatic), and the few who are have been gerrymandered into not standing a chance in local elections. There were a few Democrats of the old 'loyal opposition' (Zel Miller, for ex.) model who I could respect, as I recall (Ex-Gov. Shaeffer, for example, proved to be principled enough to endorse Republicans on occasion in National elections), but it was hard to live as a Republican in Maryland. I sympathize with you. - 6/24/06, 3:04 PM

Didn't they blame BIG ELECTRICTY and DEREGULATION first?

Donks did the ''deregulating,'' but then froze price increases which had the net effect of 1) keeping any real competition from getting into this market, and 2) leaving this little time bomb for us. Consumer Energy options are so obtuse that not a soul in Maryland has the slightest idea about what they sign up for each year. I think I have all that right, but maybe not. I don't really care because I built my own nuclear power plant in the basement. Free electricity is just a by-product. I did it for the depleted-uranium.

Ah yes, "deregulation was an abysmal failure" spouted by the same people who "deregulated" the market (except for the fact that they froze prices and made it unprofitable to enter the market) same story here in Connecticut.

Ed Rendell what a cocksucker. I could never figure why they would elect that pig.

Rendell is the Joe Namath of elected Democrats. As Philly mayor he would say, "We're going to cheat like Hell during the election, LOL" and then he would.

I've lived in Patsy Schroeder's district in Colorado. I lived in Washington DC, when Marion Berry was mayor. I currently live in Massachusetts, with Kerry and Kennedy as my senators, and a socialist named Capuano as my rep.
How did I miss Maryland?
Aw wait a minute! I once worked on a six-week contract at the Federal Center in Suitland, MD, and lived in Temple Hills! I didn't miss Maryland!
I must have been Stalin in a previous life. - 6/25/06, 6:43 PM

Bob, I think they are following you, so please don't move to Virginia! ;>)
