Reader Mary brought this Hot Air to our attention  To my way of thinking it's the perfect illustration of the muddy thought processing that govern the left.  John Murtha parallels Bill Clinton's withdrawal  from Somalia, tail betwixt legs, and President Bush's intransigent demand for victory in Iraq. If you thought that would be today's WTF?, you'd be wrong.  Gateway Pundit  has that (sample below) ...
On October 22, 2002, Representative John Murtha voted "To Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq".

On September 16, 2003, Murtha joined with Democrats around Capitol Hill and made it clear that they intended to step up their aggressive criticism of Bush policies in Iraq.

On May 6, 2004, Representative Murtha called the Iraq War "unwinnable".

John Murtha called for immediate withdrawal of US forces from Iraq on November 17, 2005.

He voted against the immediate withdrawal on November 18, 2005.

On Wednesday, November 30, 2005, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi joined Rep. Murtha to withdraw troops from Iraq as soon as possible.

On Wednesday December 7, 2005, Representative Murtha revealed his latest plan...
to redeploy Iraqi troops in six months to Kuwait and Okinawa!

Moderator Tim Russert quoted Murtha from his 2004 book “From Vietnam to 9/11“, advocating that we should not pull prematurely or create a timetable, finishing, “an untimely exit could rapidly devolve into a civil war”.

Does that a$$-clown even know where Okinowa is? Does he understand the Japanese people want the Marines we already have in Okinawa to leave now. They don't want 100,000 more soldiers looking for liberty fun. I don't advocate the defeat from the jaws of victory mentality, but if I was in favor of "cut and run" I'd bring our guys home instead of Japan. The people of his district need to ask themselves if this idiot is truly representative of their views. In other words are they as dumb as the guy representing them in congress? If not they can make a change in November.

And I guess the asshat hasn't heard this - "Under the agreement, Washington will shift 8,000 troops and their dependents from the Japanese island chain of Okinawa to the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam. Other U.S. forces will be relocated around Okinawa."
