Mother Superior and I will this week fulfil a life long dream and tryout for the U.S. Synchronous Swimming Team. There will be no posting until next Monday (July 31st). Two of our kids will man the fort here, god help us. If you see naked people running on the lawn, tell them I said ''stop that.'' Thanks. |

Withdrawal to commence in less than 72 hours!
Suggestion: either hike up those drahs or get a Speedo. You won't be able to keep up with MS in that dreadful syncro-attire.

But one question Roger if you were going to buy a laptop for a girl off for her first year of college what would you get?

First I would check to see what the college recommeneded (PC or MAC), then I would buy the cheapest thing available.

They are equiped to use either a MAC or PC but do not recommend anything. I want to give her something dependable but dont want to spend a fortune on it if I dont have to.

Have fun, Rodger, I'll miss ya, but I have come to realize that bloggers need vacations more than most.

JACK:
I agree with Rodge: Get whatever the school suggest. When my son went two years ago it was REQUIRED that he had one. They have an entire building on campus just for handling the supply, repair, etc. of the laptops. Was expensive ($2400?) but it is guaranteed for the 4 years he is in school AND all software updates are included. Anything that goes wrong, he take it to them and he gets a "loaner" or it's replaced. Whole campus is Wi-Fied. You can sit in the football stadium and do homework (why you would, I have no idea...). - 7/23/06, 10:40 AM

Jack,
Pop into SlickDeals.net once or twice a day. Nice prices on laptops (among other items) are posted quite frequently. However, the deals generally don't last for long so persistence in site visitation is key. - 7/23/06, 2:41 PM

Rog, remember to tell the kids, it's three ball & one tracer.

Have a great one, Rodge. You deserve it, though I wonder where I'm going to get my fix from for this week. I may resort to doing homework. Fudge.
