I heard him say sedition too. Close enough definition:
"an illegal action inciting resistance to lawful authority and tending to cause the disruption or overthrow of the government."
This could be argued, but tricky to win.
Frankly, I'd go with libel, much more cut and dried:
"a false and malicious publication printed for the purpose of defaming a living person."
Fortunately, I'm not a lawyer. I will donate to Murtha's opponent in the upcoming election tho.
