Floyd Landis

Floyd Landis
Let's consider Floyd Landis, the American cyclist who will probably be stripped of his Tour d' France victory, because he supposedly doped up with testosterone.  I believe Landis when he denies any doping, and not because he's American, but because the whole thing stinks.  Consider:
  • The French are a disagreeable and haughty race of people.
  • The French seethed over Lance Armstrong's record seven consecutive Tour de France wins.
  • The French accused Armstrong of doping up, and tried unsuccessfully to strip him of his last win.
  • There was an anonymous leak of Landis' preliminary carbon-isotope test results to the New York Times on July 31.
  • The muted reaction by the French press to Landis possibly losing his win is perhaps testament to their own embarrassment over what appears to be a  get-even attempt by the Tour's governing body (our Liberals are sooooo French, aren't they?).
  • Despite the French assertion that their test is 100% accurate, it isn't.
Given the Armstrong precedent, and with foreknowledge that he would undergo close examination himself, we are supposed to believe that Landis said, aw, what the hell, and doped anyway.   To point out that the tests were run by a French lab might sound churlish, so I won't.  I will say that if I wanted to set Landis up, it would be simple enough to do.  A little testosterone in his glass of victory wine, or in a cup of water held out during the race would be enough.  Nuh-uh.  This stinks.

Is ''Nifong'' a French name?

Naw Rodger
He was tested on the day of his comeback ride.
I like bashing the french as much as you do.
But.
If he drinks anything that is tainted, he is responsible.

Then we might call him talented but stupid.

I'd be interested in a backtrack, test the samples to verify that they are actually a Landis contribution, and not "contaminated, altered, or adjusted" sample for better results.

I wouldn't put it past the French to have spiked a drink. They are vindictive bastards and such pussies. They have no guts and when the rubber hits the road they take off.

This stinks to high heaven and the jones they took after Armstrong is all the evidence I need to tell me they had the fix in. Landis was a stooge and he won the goddamn race - get over it you racist, pussy, lily-livered fwench bastards..

by the way did I say I hate fwance???

Everybody hates France

It is my sincere prayer and wish that no American ever again dies or sheds a drop of blood for France. It is posible this guy was set up. But anyone that has trained as hard as is necessary to win that race and knowing the animosity the French fell toward the US would be insane to accept anything to drink from someone they do not know and trust.

Who said anything about him (Landis) drinking anything. I'd be willing to bet that the "sample" is not his own...and Rodger is right, everybody hates fwance.
